Howdy friends,
Sleepy Sean Seanson (not to be confused with Sleepy Owl Johnson, the sleepiest Owl around) is back with a little update!
Last time, I discussed some plans for future videos and changes to the format of some videos to better allow me to get stuff out quicker without sacrificing the quality of the videos! The funny thing about doing this is that as you get more experienced, you tend to take longer to make stuff because you get more meticulous with everything. It's a blessing and curse really, but it is what it is!
Anyway, I knew I wanted to do a video on a single game to round out the year, and initially, I was thinking of doing Fear Effect 2, but once again I've decided to shelve that until the Fear Effect re-release? I'm not even sure what it is anymore, but considering the luck all the other Fear Effect releases, remasters, etc. had, I'll believe it's real when it's released.
So instead I decided to return to the Cryo Mines to play a game I've wanted to try for a long time called The Guardian of Darkness and lemme tell ye it is most certainly a Cryo game... but also possibly the most playable and interesting of all the Cryo PS1 games I've played, so it should make for a fun video!
I've been working on that since Obscure Vol.16 and while I'm taking my time with it, it is thankfully almost done! I have the last half of the video to edit, but the entire thing is scripted, all the art is done, etc. and I expect the final video to run around 1:20 - 1:30 in length, and it will be in the style of the Fear Effect Video as well as the older Cyro videos like Pax Corpus and Virus, so if you're a fan of those styles of videos, this is for you!
The plan is to have it out before Christmas, so I guess we can consider it the Christmas video or late Halloween video...? Let's just say both... but either way it'll be here soon enough!
As for the remainder of the year, once again I'll aim to get a PS1 fan translation update out around New Year's. Not as many new titles this year, but there are some pretty high-profile ones to talk about, like Linda Cube and Ancient Roman (Ancient Roman is so funny) so it should be a fun one to make! Shortly after that video is out I might put out a compilation video of all my PS1 Fan translation videos, just to have them all in one handy compressed video, couldn't hurt!
Other than that I managed to do two very rare live streams, a live playthrough of Gamera 2000 and a little stream celebrating the 30th anniversary of the PlayStation where I played a few Japanese launch titles. These is archived on the channel in the streams playlist which you can find here: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL5wBEnvqci22jqVw6e1uFnHkOVa9s99pn&si=uJxQQ3hslCk07wX_
Big thank you to everybody who stopped by, and apologies to those who missed out due to a combination of my poor promotion/living in an awkward time zone.
I think that's pretty much it for now anyway, once again thanks so much for your all your continued support. It's probably been the hardest year I've had on YouTube, just due to all the life stuff I have distracting me and while I'm happy with my output, I just wish I had the time to make more!
But regardless I'm very lucky to have one of the nicest fan bases on YouTube, all the kind words and support have meant the world to me this year, so thanks again for being the best.
And just as a little reminder, I know I don't have to say this but if for WHATEVER reason, you wish to cancel monetary support on Patreon, please never feel bad about it, all the support here on Patreon helps towards making the videos and motivating me with tasty bags of crisps, but I promise you I'll also be fine without it. Obviously, it helps towards the path of getting me into YouTube full time, but I've also got a job in the background churning away keeping me afloat So, if you feel that money would be better used supporting yourself or somebody who needs it more, by all means do what you gotta do!
I'll still love you anyway <3
Take care and if I don't talk cha before the end of the year, I wish you all a very happy Christmas, Holidays, New Years, etc. etc.
Hope you all have a safe, warm and food-filled few weeks! Maybe even play some PS1 games, c'mon tis the season after all :)
Much love,
Sean
(PS. Honey and Luna have been very cute and clingy the past few months, they're so cute. Enjoy the pictures!)
