I'm still sifting through files and making sure I haven't forgotten things, since these sets are a mish mash of a few different ACNH set themes. But I figured I'd get at least one item all the way made tonight, here is the last asian-themed dresser. I added extra swatches for it also, and like usual a new bump and specular map and improved image textures. It is a functional dresser. And I guess it's a good spot to put this right at the top, the 3rd in our poll is another set of character dolls, so if there is an animal crossing character(s) you'd like made please drop me their name(s)! βΊοΈ I hope everyone is having an okay Monday π
Update (late Monday night):
I think I have all our files sorted (hopefully!) and converted our files that we get all the meshes from to one that will open in Blender. I've gone back to creating some items, but am fixing the images as I go, I am hoping tomorrow I can get a lot of that done in one good chunk. Here is the crossed bamboo fence, and the bamboo car stop. The fence has its own mapping and image, and only 1 swatch. I want it to have more swatches like the stop block (and other bamboo items from the other Harmonious sets) so I will be going back to them and editing the original image the best I can to match the other swatches.
Update (Tuesday early evening):
After more of putting our apartment back together today, I got some of the image textures improved, and made the Shunsetsu door decoration, it can really be placed anywhere as it doesn't snap to walls: bb.moveobjects on, raise with the 0-9 keys to desired height and just put it wherever you'd like, it has no footprint so will not block your sim's way. Added the Japanese bow as well. I made it once and had to remake it and retake the preview, it had a small issue that is now fixed. The fences and stop block shown above in-game as well. I would like the ends of the fence piece to be a bit longer so the top part sticking up don't run into each other when the items are placed together, so I will be editing that mesh again when I go to make the extra swatches for it. I hope everyone is having a nice Tuesday! Personally I am exhausted, but in good spirits! βΊοΈ βοΈπ―οΈπ΄
Update (Wednesday late morning):
I got back to our set as soon as I woke up this morning, here is the traditional tea set, I've made 2 versions, one with steam & one without steam. I've also added the pillar ruins that have the pretty vines on them. There is a full pillar, and a broken one. They each have 5 swatches.
Update (Wed. 1 PM):
Added the wall decor autograph cards (it has a few swatches), and 2 versions of the moss balloon, short and tall. The moss balloons glow in the dark and have lots of swatches.
Update (Wed a little after 2 PM):
Added the fish prints, it has 7 swatches. Added the long noren, it is a decor object that won't snap to anything so that it can be used for lots of things. The fabric needed remapping as it was all broken up, so I did that and used a sim for size reference, but I should have used this little doorway. It's a little too large, the cute details get hidden inside the door frame, so I'm just going to adjust the size on the long noren before making the short wide one. I might also make a second version without the "connect-to-ceiling" poles.
Update (Wed. about 4 PM):
I fixed the size, and made a second version of the long noren, V2 has just the bar that the fabric is hanging from. As I suspected, the wide noren also needed to be remapped, so I took a screenshot of what the original mapping looks like when this happens, and a pic from Blender showing the broken mapping on the image. In game pics above with all of that fixed, and also a second version for the wide noren with just the one bar.
Update (Wed 5:30 PM):
Added the Imperial wall, and I added more swatches to it so that all wall heights have a version that is just wood with no window, and the medium and tall have a swatch where there are 2 levels of windows. Added a dancefloor with the moss floor. Added the Japanese Goemonburo, but instead of a bath, which would not work with the item's shape, I decided to make it into something that can have the fire lit beneath it and sims can cook food on it like a campfire. We have 20 items so far.
Update (Wed 7 PM):
After eating some dinner I went back to the bamboo fence and lengthened the ends, so that they can be placed right next to each other for a enclosed fence without the top points poking into each other. I also added the other 2 swatches that bamboo items usually have, since this item had only the green swatch for some reason.
Update (Thursday early afternoon):
Added this cave item, covered in vines. To put a sim inside of the cave, place the teleporter object that goes with Andrew's Pose Player and teleport your sim. The cave is a big item with a lot of detail, with 9762 poly. (4 swatches)
Update (Thursday about 3 PM):
Added the Japanese Alcove, a little niche that goes inside of the home and it has lots of slots for placing plants/vases/whatever you like (slot size 1 and 2). I made some walls to match the alcove's wall swatches, there are 4 colors in total (white, green, red, and blue). Added another wall decor print using the frame from the fish print so they match, and the prints from the wall of the alcove. They're so pretty, I wanted everyone to be able to use them as wall decor (there are 6 print swatches).
Update (Thursday 4:30ish):
Added 5 garden rocks. Added an extra swatch to 4 of them.
Update (Thursday early evening):
Added the zen ceiling lamp. As always with my lamp CC, they look best in game by turning their brightness down, due to my vertex paintbrush issue in Blender. I try to get it to work properly every time I make a lamp, even in other versions of the program. Still no dice. Once I do finally figure that detail out, I will be going back and editing all of the lamps I've made to date. We are at 30 items as of now, I'm going to make a couple/few more things and then start getting preview pics for the post. I've been getting tired early lately, so the post might come tomorrow depending on how long it takes to make those. Item previews still coming here on this post π I hope everyone is having a nice week!
Update (Thursday late evening):
Added the hinoki tub, it is a decor object that has 2 versions: with and without steam.
Update (Thursday about 9 PM):
Added the outdoor bath as decor, the little lamp next to the rocks glows in the dark. I put it next to the cave item from earlier since it looks more appropriate displayed here and not next to a building. I have still have a couple more items that I would like to add.
Update (Thursday night):
Added 2 screens, the shoji screen, and the Japanese low screen. We now have 35 items, I have more asian-themed things for a part 4 so that this set doesn't become too large. I will get pics taken & edited, & the set should be up tomorrow πππ
Update (Friday 7 PM):
Just a small update, I've been getting all the pics for the post, and while working on that I realized this set neeeeds a rug and that I still had the sakura rug that I haven't yet made! So I added it in the middle of taking these pictures. I also remade the door ornament as it was giving some errors. All the pics are taken just need to be edited! π
