I've gotten started with the poll winning set, aquarium tidepool exhibit items. The other sets that were voted on will be made after this one, in order of how many votes they got. It's going to be a big month for CC here, as I also have a surprise set to post as soon as I can get the post pics! It's a highly voted for category, so I hope everyone will like it!
Here we have a small pool, which I have added just a couple test slots to, I will add more now that I get see it in game. Inside there is a sea anemone, the first of the little tidepool creatures for this set, which I have added more swatches to since all of these come with only 1 swatch each. What does everyone think of the water texture in the pool? Do you want it to be a little more transparent? Or is it nice like this? My aquarium lot is incredibly full so I have no room to test a fountain, I will do this on another lot, but I am making all of the creatures able to go into pools and fountains, because a tidepool exhibit could probably also be made with the fountain building tool (I'm going to try it). Stay tuned for more!
(Update: Wednesday night):
Added the sea grapes, whelk, sea cucumber, sea urchin, and slate pencil urchin.
(Update: Late Wed. night/early Thursday morning):
Added a bunch of different rocks, 7 total, and made new image textures for them that are a more fitting size than the entire object I liberated them from. I added a plant, and a driftwood arch with plants growing on and around it, with rocks at the bottom. An update on using these in fountains to make the tidepool exhibit: It cannot be on a waterfront (per TS4 fountain settings), and it cannot be placed under something, so if an in game customized fountain is being used for the tidepool exhibit you are making, it has to be outside. Fountains are also a bit deep, and the water in them distorts the objects in the water, if done this way.
Update (Very eariy Thursday morning):
Added giant isopod, turban shell, abalone, shrimp, and mantis shrimp.
Update (Thursday night):
Added the flat worm, sea slug, tiger prawn, sea pig, and the sea star in 2 sizes. Extra swatches added for all. I have to angle the camera weird to get the pics of them under the water, there is an image above with the pool out of the way to show the creatures, rocks, and plants a little better.
Update (early Friday morning):
Added the chambered nautilus, horseshoe crab, 2 versions of the acorn barnacle, 3 versions of the clam, mussels: in a bunch and a single one, 2 versions of the scallop, the oyster, and 2 versions of the sea pineapple.
Update (early Friday evening):
I've been working on lots more items today! Here are 2 different seaweeds, some growing up, and some in a pile. I made a set of items for a pearl diving exhibit, I thought it could be cute. There are 8 different pearl oysters, some whole, some shucked. Some of them have a pearl that you can see, which I added. I also made a little oyster knife to go with them. I then made the hermit crab as a pet item, in a cage, with an extra shell (lots of recolors for cage lid), and 2 versions of the crab on it's own, and just the shell as its own object as well. Hermit crabs and the single shell have recolors for the shell. I would like to make a sign for the pearl diving. I hope everyone likes how things are looking! There are 56 files so far, it's a big set, but it's almost done! And I hope you're all having a nice Friday 💗
Update (Friday evening):
Added the pearl diving sign. I need to get in game pictures of all the things now for the post.
Update (Friday night):
I have just been making sure everything is right on each file, and I added light to the pearl diving sign, because I know dimmer lighting in aquarium builds can look nice if you're using some neon tube lighting in the tanks. I also added a square table with 2 shelves, I just thought it looked nice and kind of wanted it in the spot where I'm taking screenshots, so I'm including that with the set also.
