Hello! Since it was pretty obvious which option was going to win first, I got started on an item I've been itching to make, a pamphlet/ticket holder of my own mesh and making. Here it is colored for an aquarium. All swatches shown above. By the way! If anyone has an idea for a pamphlet they would like for a swatch, please tell me! I added things like aquarium-specific ones, IMAX theater, pearl diving, live mermaid show, I will add some more if I can imagine some up. But please tell me if there is something you want! ๐
Update:
I added another pic of it in game. There is a small issue I need to fix on the glass at the top as you can see. I think these turned out really cute! Again, if there is a swatch that you would like a pamphlet of, for some sort of aquarium subject matter, please let me know! See my note above. Now, I have a lot to do today IRL, all kinds of household chores and responsibilities. So I will be working on this when I can, hopefully taking some breaks from my work to make more CC. This note is just concerning today.
Update (late Thursday night):
I finally got back to this project, and I made the top of the pamphlet holder straight. I was having an issue with a weird darkness (shown above) and after all kinds of messing with, finally figured out it was just the bump map ๐ (some random specular map was imported there instead). Anyway, on to the next, lol ๐
Update (I've worked into the early morning):
I've been going all evening trying to make up for lost time during the day. I gathered some more files, and improved the image textures for some of the items. I also made a couple things: Here is a decluttered & slotted retail table. I liberated the shirts and added swatches for the aquarium gift shop. This stack has 4 shirts, there is another stack with 3 shirts that I will be adding also for some variation. The top shelf has many slots, the other two beneath it have a slot for small, and a slot for medium, to make it easier to decorate, since when you try to place something on something with slots on many levels, it kind of goes wherever. This way, the bb.moveobjects cheat can me used for the bottom two shelf spaces (& the top one as well if you so desire!) I'm going to have to pause for tonight and get a little bit of rest, but I'm so excited to continue later!
Update (Friday night):
Added a corner shelf, with extra swatches made by me, gif above. Made a double-tall version of the little shelf also.
Update (early Saturday morning):
I've been up all night again, and working on our set! Added yet another retail shelf (adding all of the slots takes for-ev-er), and an octopus plush toy (extra swatches added to most items). I added a cute little glow squid toy also, and I made a trio of velvet rope items, but as you can see in the image above, something is going on with the mapping. It doesn't look like that in Blender or Sims 4 Studio, so I am going to take another look at that, but after I have gotten a little sleep.
Update (okay I lied, I'm not in bed yet):
I added a hanging sign with all original swatches, and some extra for the aquarium. It was too long at first so I made it shorter. Okay, now sleep.
Update (Saturday evening):
I had a lot of IRL things to take care of again today, I even had to walk home from the supermarket in the pouring rain (I don't drive) so that was an experience! Not entirely terrible, honestly, nature can be so very healing. As soon as I was finished with my responsibilities, I got the ropes working properly, so that's good! I also added another plushie toy, a squid, with extra swatches of course. I am very excited about all the little things I'm going to be adding! In addition to gift shop items, there will be some other semi-surprises (because of course they will be shown here!) I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend ๐๐๐
Update (Sunday early afternoon):
I added 2 more velvet rope items, since the first one is the whole thing, I made an object that is just the post, and another that is just the rope, to allow for easy custom placement. I put this next item together myself, an enclosed display case, for special or valuable items either for sale or for just viewing. It has a few slots inside, and the image file is easily recolorable. The marble swatch is especially nice.
Update (Sunday evening):
I have added variations for this display. Two with glass enclosures, and two without. Of these four objects, two of each kind have an ID tag on the surface, which is also easily recolorable if anyone wants to add their own text (to the sign on the front panel as well). I love when items have versatility, and I thought these could also just be used for retail displays. I added more extra swatches with the marble one, in the many colors of the sea. I decided it's probably best for my organizational madness if I go by each category for this set while creating, so we are still currently on gift shop items. But I have other really fun things to add, too!
Update (late Sunday night):
Added another squid toy, and 2 balloons objects of the squid and octopus from an update above. Again with these items, they are easily recolorable for lots of creative fun for people who like to do that. (If you want to learn recoloring, PLEASE let me know. It's not hard, at all, I love to teach in general, and it will open up a whole world of options and creativity for your game.)
Update (early Monday morning):
I've added two more items: A little souvenir treasure chest, and a pet sea angel. The sea angel took me for-ev-er because I was trying again and again to get the glass just right. I had to load my game to see it each time, so, yeah. That was a project in itself. But I'm so happy with the result, it's such a cute little guy! I'm going to have to break for now and get some sleep, but as always I'm so excited to continue later on!
Update (Monday evening):
I've been working mostly today on these 3 pillows, liberated from items in the previously made mermaid set. Like with all liberated things, new image textures need to be made in order to not bloat the file size, as well as matching bump and specular maps. But here they are, a fish pillow, a seashell pillow, and a starfish pillow, for decor on the shelves. I hope everyone is having a nice day ๐
Update (continued):
Added a mermaid sea globe. There are 2 sets of swatches, one set has a more transparent glass.
Update (continued, very early Tuesday morning):
Added a big framed map for the wall. I changed all of the text to Simlish. Your aquarium may not look like this one, but it's a fun item to have. I'd love to make one from an actual build sometime, though!
Update (late Wednesday night):
I had a lot to do IRL today, so I had to wait until evening to start working on these some more. Here is the big standing poster sign, I've added 3 swatches for an aquarium, and then it has the rest of the original swatches. Since there are so many combinations with the stand colors, I am going to make a separate package file for each sign base color (above is the black one). I did this once with a shed item, due to the many combinations it makes one package file too large.
Update (Thursday morning):
Added the EA angler fish, with a new light bulb that gives a soft glow. There are 3 previews above, in the tank with lights on, off, and at night with the walls down to better see them.
Update (Wednesday night):
I've been working all day on these next items. First I added the rest of the package files for the different frame colors on the poster object. Then: more stuff for the angler fish exhibit. There are a couple of signs, one that says photos are allowed, just not flash photography. The other is one for above the door. I added a light object telling sims not to open the door if the light is on, as there is a show in progress. Then I added two angler fish display models. The EA version of the fish, and the ACNH version (with the little male ๐คฉ). There are a total of 45 files. This set took me a teeny bit longer than usuall due to the objects that I made myself. I just need to get pictures now for the post!
