I'm now moving on to the next poll items, the kitchen stuff. I got all the files into their own folders yesterday & fixed the image textures. Here is the first "counter" which is a table surface. Sims counters require multiple meshes of different shapes to be available for corners, ends, and islands (gif above of the EA Harbinger counter mesh types), and we only have 1 mesh for the ACNH counters, so they are made as miscellaneous surfaces. They can be placed wherever you want, and can be used outdoors as short brick walls. I hope everyone is having a lovely day βΊοΈπ
Update (Thursday evening):
Added the concrete counter, plain counter, wood counter, and marble counter. All original swatches included, with a few extra on a couple of them.
Update (Thursday evening):
Added the checkout counter, it's a counter so why not. It has a cute little cubby in the back with a writing pad, pen, and receipts. All original swatches, new bump and specular maps as usual.
Update (Friday afternoon):
Added the rice cooker in 3 versions: closed, open with steam (steam animation requires Cats & Dogs), and open without steam. I added some extra swatches for both the actual cooker, and the food inside on the open versions.
Update (Friday afternoon continued):
Added the country sink, got it working properly, and added some slots to the counter space next to the sink.
Update (Friday early evening):
I have been messing with the stove for hours now, again trying to get an item functional when it has bind rigs in Blender. I ended up making the stove as a decor item, the sim refuses to use the stove when asked to cook something. I have added slots on top for the burners, and some extra swatches. This item's slot size is 2, so it may be placed on other surfaces like a trailer, etc. Also added slots to the country sink.
Update (Saturday noon):
This morning as soon as I woke up I made some coffee and got working on the outdoor kitchen set. Slots have been added to the table portion, and I'm very happy to inform that I was able to make this item functional (the grill). I'm so glad that at least grill items will work for function, and it also tells me that the issue with the indoor stove is specifically the bind rig/animation for using the inside of the oven. It doesn't answer all my questions on that, but gets me little closer to figuring it out as I would ultimately like to be able to make any item functional that has similar base items in game. I am trying to upload the image and gif here, and it's getting stuck so here and here are previews until this website stops acting weird.
Update (Saturday afternoon):
Added the open frame kitchen. The sink is functional, the stove area is non-functional. It has 3 slots on the burners, as well as next to the sink and the shelf underneath. In the preview gif I have placed some clutter, including the steaming stock pot from country set 2. The unit only has 1 original swatch, so I added 2 more: one with more unsaturated gray, and a black one.
Update (Saturday early evening):
Added the compact kitchen, same type of item as the stove, decor with slots on the burner, as I am going to have to learn more about rigs and animations, which is quite advanced as far as CC making goes. I also added a little serving cloche, and a drink in a cute little glass with a straw. I am currently CC-making and cooking dinner IRL, but still moving forward on our project π
Update (Saturday night):
Added the covered counter, and I couldn't miss the opportunity to make it into a retail counter (requires Get To Work). I am also making a base game compatible version. Extra swatches added.
Update (Sunday noon):
Last night I started the second version for base game of the covered counter, today I added all the many slots. It thought this item would be cute for a vendor table type of thing, wouldn't it? The BGC version is categorized as a misc. surface and has lots and lots of slots (see above). I have 4 more (large) items to make for this set.
Update (continued):
Added the iron wood sink in all original swatches. It is a functional sink with counter space next to it that has slots.
Update (Sunday night):
Added the system kitchen sink, it is the same type of item as the others with dual stations, the sink is functional and the stove has slots. The counter space also has slots. Added the large stove, and the double gloucester cheese.
Update (continued):
Added the kitchen island, I still need to make all the slots and make a new specular map for this item, as well as liberating the little cooking pot that is on the original mesh to its own decor item, which I need to save for tomorrow. It's about 11 PM where I am and I need to break for tonight π
Update (final):
Here are the last 2 items, the kitchen island (surface and functional sink), and I liberated the cooking pot from it so it has an open space on the burners for clutter, and the pot is its own clutter item, and I added a few extra swatches. You can see the slots I have added in the Sims 4 Studio image above. I think one more thing I might do is make the pot just a little bit smaller, it looks kind of large to me, that will just take a minute. Otherwise, I am just going to take pictures in game for the post π I hope everyone's Monday is going all right ππ
