There was a time when I'd sworn off the color black. Not as if it didn't exist, but in its use in my art. I wouldn't use it, as I had a tendency to mix so much of it into my paint in the process of mixing colors. It would easily overwhelm a painting and make it look muddy, dark, or even frightening.
Times have changed. While I still use it sparingly, I also use it more wisely. Not in mixing with other colors, but more as a tribute to its darkness and depth. With great respect of the pigment, I now seek out the blackest of blacks. I have two paints here to compare and contrast. Musou Black, and Black 2.0. See for yourself which is darker!
