Itโs a technique I saw another artist friend using when she worked on lineart. When I paint hair I like to leave it kind of free flowing and not lined in because I feel like it looks more natural. Usually when I am working on lineart I fill in the hair completely with black to get the shape of it correct, and I do this on a layer completely separate from the rest of my lines. When I start coloring I usually clip a layer over the black hair and paint bucket fill it in with the color I actually want for their hair ๐ it might seem like I over complicate things but I guess I just like to have the correct shape of the hair figured out before I start coloring the drawing. I will usually come in later and add more details and shapes or loose strands if I feel like I didnโt get the shape correct in the beginning!
