Chapter 158 : Family

Apparently, because of yesterday's fierce battle, I couldn't wake up in three hours even after depleting my MP.

After the battle with Upial, I slept like a log because I didn't let deplete my mp, but this time I made sure I depleted them of MP and went to bed...

Currently, I'm locked up tight with two people.

I'm being held by Clarice on my right arm and I'm happy to have enjoy puff-puff*1. My left arm is also happy to be puff-puff on by Ellie. And it wasn't my arms that were most pleased.

My right leg is also sandwiched between Clarice's legs and my left leg is sandwiched between Ellie's legs, and my legs, sandwiched between their raw legs, are screaming with delight.

But there was one person who complained about this. My partner. He’s making a bold appeal that he’s the only one who's being left alone, but unfortunately he’s not as popular as I'd like him to be...RIP...

After a bit, Clarice woke up and said a cute 'good morning' in my ear and kissed me on the neck like Ellie. Both Clarice and Ellie were sleeping a little lower down on the bed than usual because their legs were intertwined.

Clarice unlocked my legs and kissed me differently than usual. It was a grown-up kiss... it was my first time experiencing in my...31 years of life.

“Now, wake Ellie up while I get the breakfast ready.”

As if nothing had happened, Clarice went out of my sight, got dressed up and so on, and then started preparing breakfast. I basked in the lingering feeling of Clarice for a while.

“Mars. Are you okay? Maybe you still haven't gotten over the damage from yesterday?”

I was in a daze and Clarice asked me worriedly about because I was not doing anything.

“No, it's not that...I was just in a bliss earlier...”

When I said that, Clarice blushed and went back to making breakfast. When I woke Ellie up, she didn't quite want to leave me.

Ellie kept kissing my cheeks and neck all the time, calling Mars, Mars, Mars repeatedly like a broken toy.

After about ten minutes, things finally calmed down and 2 of us decided to change separately and have Clarice's breakfast.

“Mars. How did you get through the boss room yesterday? I thought even for a Mars, you wouldn’t make it...”

Clarice asked me in a normal tone at first, but at the end she became tearful and eventually cried. Ellie saw this and sobbed too.

“Aah... it wasn't that big of a deal... apparently only the first round of ogres were strong and the ogres from the second time that appeared weren’t that strong. The first round ogres were 45 years old while the second round ogres were 0 in age…so yeah…you get it right?”

I didn't want to worry them too much. The talk about the ogres’ age is true, but it was the toughest fight I ever had... and the first time I really thought I might die.

There's no way I can be an A-rank adventurer like this against a threat level B enemies... but I was definitely stronger after yesterday's fight.

Finally, Lightning magic grew significantly to level 9 and talent at S. Well, my status is fine, and the two of them seem to have calmed down a bit.

“I wish Mars could have seen how distraught Ellie was yesterday.”

“...sorry...Mars...I thought you were dead...”

I knew it... I wondered why there was blood outside the boss's room... That must have been Ellie punching the wall or something.....and there was bloodstain on the wall too.

“Well, it’s lucky that nothing happened... We got four awesome things too...”

“Well...yes… But I'm worried about you...don't push yourselves too hard.”

Clarice leaned in closer to me while Ellie put her head on my shoulder.

“Tell me the 4’s functions.”

Clarice asked, and I told her in turn. First, the glowing sword. This is actually the one I don't understand the best...

This is a wonderful dagger that combines offence and defence. When I gave it to Ellie, she happily said, "Thank you. I'll take good care of it", while wiping her tears.

But Ellie already has two daggers. I asked her if she wanted to take one of them off her equipment. When I asked her, she said she would return the Sylph Dagger to me because the mithril silver dagger was a precious gift from Clarice. Ellie always takes good care of things that Clarice and I have given her.

The next one came from the normal treasure chest from the second round I fought the ogres.

Name: Amulet of Thunder

Special: Magic +2

Value: B

Details: Greatly increase resistance to lightning. Immunity to electric shocks.

I had also decided to give this to Ellie. In any case, Clarice is originally unaffected against Lightning magic. And because Ellie is often by my side as much as Clarice.

When I put this pendant-type golden amulet on Ellie, she was more delighted than Carnwennan earlier. But then.

“Am I the only one...? Clarice's...? Not fair...if I’m the only one..."

The tone of her voice suddenly dropped, as if she was concerned for Clarice. When Clarice heard these words.

Hearing Clarice's words, Ellie's angelic smile finally returns.

Finally, it's a much shinier object that came out of the big white silver treasure chest, but it shines brighter than even the sword of oracle.

Details: A metal blessed by the gods. It can be enchanted with any magic and can take any form, but equipment made from orihalcon will be bound to the the first person to equip it. Also, anything made of orihalcon is absolutely unbreakable and will not deteriorate.

This… from the description alone is great, but... it was actually a very small ingot...of about 10 grams? Well, I appraised this yesterday before I went to bed, and at that time I had already decided what I was going to make with it.

“Orihalcon sounds awesome... but we’ll have to collect more to make even one piece of equipment...”

Clarice said while tilting her head.

“Yes, that's right. Can I have this orihalcon?”

I asked them both and they both said in unison, ““Of course””. After a little time to relax, we decided to return to the surface.

On the way back to the second floor, we met up with Zeke, Ike, senior glasses and the Black Tri-Stars. Apparently, they were worried because we hadn't left the magic stone on the second floor since the first day, so they were going to go to the third floor with the six of them.

“The fourth floor enemies were so formidable that we forgot to leave the magic stones in the second floor. However, I have taken all the magic stones of the magic beasts in the fourth floor. Unfortunately, we couldn't bring back the magic beast stones from the boss room..."

Zeke was relieved to see us.

“We were really worried about you…and you should apologize to Maria later. It's not just Mars, you know. Clarice and Ellie too. You're like our family now.”

Clarice and Ellie bowed their heads at Zeke's warm words. Especially for Ellie, Zeke's words seemed to have sunk deep into her heart. She had tears in her eyes.

When we were leaving, Ike asked me about the fourth floor. I told him about the orgres in detail.

“Is it okay if me and Ede go with you?”

Ike's question was answered by Clarice.

“If you are prepared to have sister-in-law's chests rubbed by Mars, then you can follow go along.”

She said mischievously. Clarice... that's from the boss's room, isn't it? ...the senior glasses bit at these words.

“Eh? What? Do you do such romantic things in the middle of combat?”

Romantic... Clarice and senior glasses started to have a girl talk. Ellie added a word or two there and entered the world of the three of them.

“But still, you guys make the second floor of this evil Almeria labyrinth feel like a plain field out there.”

Zeke said, and Ike added.

“Yeah. Let's listen properly to the story of the boss room of the Almeria Labyrinth which even Mars had a hard time with.”

The men get excited talking about the boss room. The Black Tri-Stars wolves are carrying the magic stones of the ogres we defeated in the fourth floor, by the way.

It's already 19:00, probably because we were too relaxed in the safe zone of the third floor. When we reached the house, Maria was waiting for us with the gatekeeper, holding Cain in her arms.

Where's Leena? Right at the moment I thought so, she jumped on me. Tears were welling up in her eyes. I wondered if I had worried Leena too...

Cain looked a little unhappy when he saw me, but when he looked at Ellie's face and a little lower down her face, he had a happy expression on his face. This guy is definitely going to get a nice woman in the future.

We were actually going to leave Almeria tomorrow, but we'll leave the day after tomorrow. I want to spend a little more time with this great family.
