I am reposting and rephrasing a question i asked elsewhere. What was the USA doing during the July Crisis? Did they do anything or get asked to do anything more than just take over everyone's vacant embassies? Given how pivotal the arrival of the US was in the final year of WW1, it is strange that they seem like just a bystander at the beginning.
