Logan Culwell-Block (Little Shop of Horrors) and Sophie Schulman (FunnyGirl) have come for the great, lost Sondheim mini-musical that maybe isn’t that great . . . or lost . . . but it is short!

Can I read this on the next intermission? Please say I can! This is so great, Paul.

However, particularly after your last Intermission, I feel that i have to make a stand for those of us who enjoy the film of A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum. I first encountered it in television and , frankly, laughed my butt off. Is the movie odd in a surrealistic way. You Bet. But there are so many great bits Jack Gilford as Hysterium, Buster Keaton, the Lyre falling into Hero's hands, the Father taking the bust back to Rome to have the nose sharpened, Miles thinking that the Mother is the world's oldest courtesan, Pseudolus acting out Hysterium's collection of erotic pottery. The list goes on and on. The sum of its parts is greater than its whole. If you look at Rotten Tomatoes and IMDB it is a beloved movie. I will admit that I was gobsmacked when I found my parent's original Broadway cast recording and there were a ton of songs that I hadn't heard but grew to love. I still think that Impossible is one of Sondheim's funniest songs. And best of all, Forum acted like a gateway drug for me. It was the first Sondheim score that I heard and after I heard it once I felt like i needed more and I went out and had to score more Sondheim scores so that I have a decent little collection today and for that I am eternally grateful for all the pleasure that the music of Sondheim has brought to my life. Keep up the great work, Paul

Another great show, as usual. I remember reading the story that Evening Primrose is based on in a science fiction anthology and being creeped out by it, especially the ending.
