Update for February

Ahoy Hoppers!

Hey folks, just giving you a heads up of what's going to be happening from February with The Planet Hoppers now that we've had a shift around with the team.

Our current creators from Team MAD (originally setup for The MAD Cartographer Patreon, as TMC and TPH are collectively part of The MAD Network) are well under way for getting the next round of asset packs ready to drop in February so once we start back up again there should hopefully be no disruptions.

From February we're going to change slightly what we look to deliver each month:

• We want to lean more heavily into assets and tokens to try and really bolster your collections, with this we're going to lean slightly away from Tiles for the time being. The main reason is that we feel we need a much bigger selection of core assets to make the tile building process quicker and more detailed. Instead Tiles will simply be an added extra for the Full Cargo tier as and when we release them
• We haven't gotten into it too much yet, but we're going to start looking at making world/regional SciFi assets for Wonderdraft (or whatever you use to build your maps) as another Full Cargo perk. Again, this won't be guaranteed content every month, but when we do have an asset pack good to go then we'll be dropping it in this tier.
• We're going to step away from the themed months. Whilst originally it seemed like a good idea to get a broad variety of themes... it isn't necessarily working out in practice and we end up with a random selection of assets that don't really make a full theme. Instead we're going to just make SciFi assets in general, focusing more on an asset theme (weapons, vehicles, medical, etc.) vs a franchise theme (Alien, Star Wars, Firefly, etc.). We'll still have some obviously inspired assets from various franchises though and may at times release entire packs of a theme as and when they're ready.

Hopefully these changes will allow us to keep smashing out a ton of assets for you all every month as well as some additional bits and bobs to help your games!
