2026 Content Preview + Game History Secrets Viewer Interest Poll

Hello, everyone! I hope you've been enjoying the holidays. The new year is fast approaching and I thought it would be a good idea to lay out some ideas and plans I have for 2026 with regards to my Game History Secrets documentary videos and other content. There is more beyond this that I have planned, but here's a taster for now...

First of all, Dan and I will be doing our usual top 10 games of the year special podcast soon - likely at the start of January. I've been playing a couple more games in preparation but I think I have a solid idea of my personal game of the year (can you guess which?).

Next, I'm planning to drop the first Patreon exclusive Game History Secrets video also in January, which will be related to Pokémon and a very weird story to do with Nintendo and its history. This will be very different from some of the other videos I've done and may even be a bit controversial. It will will dive into some more 'adult' subject matter that is not suitable for YouTube. In fact, I may have to upload it directly to Patreon (we'll see). As I've said before, I could have done this on YouTube but it would have to be heavily censored and I don't feel like lowering myself to silly zoomer euphemisms to get around their censors. I feel like that does a disservice to the viewers and I don't want to patronise you when I want to discuss a risqué topic.

Beyond that, I have plans for some longer form videos and more 'typical' Game History Secrets videos on cancelled video games and other such deep dives. My current primary research project is investigating a fairly recent cancelled video game that has not been reported on at all. It was a AAA game from a new studio based around multiple well known animated movie IPs. This was a game that was being built for Switch and PC with some plans for versions on other modern consoles as well. I feel lucky in a way that nobody has yet covered this anywhere and that I will hopefully get to break this story myself, so I'm going to leave you with those details for now. I'm not sure how long it will take me to investigate this, but I will say that I have a lot of material from the project including concept art, in-engine screenshots, and even prototype gameplay footage. I'm hoping this will form one of my first major videos in 2026 and as usual, you will get to see it early and ad free on here!

I have been researching other projects that I think would make interesting Game History Secrets videos on top of this and I want to list some of them in the attached poll. Please vote for the options that you're interested in seeing me tackle first. I want to gauge your interest as fans to learn which you're most enthusiastic about, which will help me determine which to tackle first. I'll discuss the results in a future podcast and how they'll inform how I'm prioritising research and videos.

I'm aware that some of these have appeared in multiple polls and that I really need to finally do some of them but rest assured that they haven't been forgotten. I spin a lot of plates at once and have been slowly building those stories over multiple years. Some of these videos take years to build and research as I often say. For example, the Crash 5 video I did was worked on from 2020-2024. I want to be able to reveal new information and media from them to truly make them worth watching so I only deliver them when they're ready.

If you have any suggestions or tips outside of the those listed, please let me know and I will take them on board. I genuinely take all of your feedback on board to try to improve. Likewise, if you have any questions about the ideas listed in the poll or anything else, fire away and I will respond ASAP. Thank you for your support and patience. Tell me know what you think and have a very happy new year!

- Liam
