Hello Everyone, here is the cover for Book 3. The calligraphy in the background is by Yan Zhenqing, one of the greatest calligraphers in Chinese history and a Tang Dynasty politician and military commander. He was a leader in suppressing the An Lushan Rebellion (the turning point of the Tang Dynasty) and died at age 75/76 after refusing to surrender to rebels he had been sent to suppress. The characters 承天命 are translated as "By Heaven's Mandate" or "Claiming Heaven's Mandate". It can also be translated as "Claiming Heavenly Fate."
As for the cranes, they were symbols of longevity, virtue, and the longing for freedom/an unrestricted life in Ancient China.
