I found it interesting, when rereading last chapter, that Kayla figured out, that the punishment was screwed up on purpose. meanwhile it doesn’t seem the dowager realized it. That’s the second traitor that she’s had in her retinue. I don’t think the dowager is as good a player, as she believes herself to be. Then again she is fighting as a women against men in ancient China, which seems a pretty unfair battle, though I am unsure about the cultural and historical context in this matter.
