Cities of Sigmar
Added 2023-08-27 17:43:31 +0000 UTCGames Workshop has been kind to send me a preview copy of the Cities of Sigmar army box to get creative and paint to my hearts content. Coming next week I’ll be kicking things off with the first part of painting this Freeguild Marshal. With a focus on the colour palette to help you all understand more of my thought and theory process. A new approach to help illustrate our lighting. Painting the yellow cape that doesn’t drive you insane. How I approached and painted his black skin. As well notes of final touches, fixing errors and adding casted shadows.
Also on a related topic of painting, will be a written article on my experience with creative blocks. As coming off the Lion with an all time high, can then drop down to an all time low. The experience of feeling that your work is helpless and self criticism can put your painting to a halt. I believe that all of our creativity and love for painting miniatures stems from our hearts and minds. With some soul searching, reflection and a lot of help from friends and fellow artists. I’ll share all I went through in hopes you learn from my journey and help you identify the signs of those painting daemons that can cause us so much pain.
