Friday Features Poll 2025

This year, we had 4 OC Friday Features. We'll ignore Clouded for now, since it's a fanfic. We'll also ignore Wither for now as it's already fully drafted, and I'm halfway through editing. It'll be released hopefully before December.

Forced Villainy - A potential replacement story for Rogue when it's over. Stories like this and Soul Take are pretty fun for me to write, since it's like a game. But it can be equally tedious trying to keep track of all the Perks/Items/Drawbacks. Also, I don't have an entire novel plotted out here, I'd have to sit down and really brainstorm to come up with where I wanted the story to go beyond the love interest and main conflict.

Palisades After Dark - I was surprised how much I enjoyed writing this one. I wasn't sure I would, but it flowed so easily. Without having to worry about any LitRPG aspects or the baggage that comes with an already fully developed universe like Marvel or Star Wars/Trek, it just came easily. I might finish this one just to have another book in my backlist. As a side note, this story still has all the Jumpchain bits in the background, and they can be added to the story somewhat easily, but I felt that it stood well enough on its own.

Alpha Test - This one was kind of a pain in the ass. But I feel like it might be a worthwhile investment of time, since it's a straight conversion of Rogue, and it requires mostly editing and not a ton of new writing. Getting the base of the story was the most time-consuming part, but now that it's done, the rest might come easier. I am a little wary of the dual-POV as that will become the new time suck, having to write alt-perspective chapters for the whole of Rogue while also converting the story's genre. It's odd that a story can be so low-effort, but high-effort at the same time. My current idea is to mix newly written chapters with ones where I just lightly change the perspective the story is told from to ease how much new writing needs to be done.

I'm asking you guys, which ones did you read? Enjoy? Want to see more of? Think it's worth pursuing? Or is my OC stuff just booty? Usually I vote in the polls, but I won't this time. I'm looking for some reader feedback here. I know what I think was good, but that doesn't mean it was any good from your perspective. Since my time has grown more limited, I don't want to waste it on stories that noone is going to read.
