#10 - Shiny and Chrome

So The Witness video is doing great. I'm really surprised. My wife was convinced it would do well so she was right. I was wrong. I thought it was going to be another smaller video like Infinifactory.

It brought in some new pledges--or at least coincided with some of them. Thank you to the newcomers. The support means a hell of a lot. Sometimes it looks like I won't be able to keep committing so much time to the channel but then there are weeks like this one that justify all the time. Thank you so much.

If you didn't watch The Witness video, or didn't stay around for the end, then it'll be news to you that my next project is Bloodborne. I secretly bought a PS4 about a month after I finished the Dark Souls 2 series. My original intention was to make a video on it and post it under a fake name--like Barbie Horse Adventures or something--as an April Fool's joke (and then change the video name to Bloodborne the next day). However, some videos took longer than I anticipated so I couldn't get it done in time. That's probably for the best since the joke might have turned people off. Maybe it's something I could do on a smaller scale next year.

So, yeah, Bloodborne. I've finished the game already. I'm currently in my second playthrough--and the first playthrough of the Old Hunters DLC. My current plan is three videos that match what I did for Dark Souls 2:

1) Series Strengths and Sequel Changes

2) Level Design and Bosses

3) DLC and Chalice Dungeons

I want the first video to be out before Dark Souls 3 is released. And I'd like to have a shorter amount of time between each one this time around. To do that I'm going to have to make all three videos and then post them with a day or two gap. This is going to be a lot of work and I'm not sure that I'll meet this deadline, but I'm going to try. If it's a week later, then okay.

I also want to have these videos be a mix of what I did for Dark Souls 1 and 2. The first is going to be similar to the first DaS2 video, but I want the Level Design + Bosses one to be more thorough--more like a focused walkthrough of the game like I did for DaS1. Again, this may change. I have a lot of notes and planning done but until I sit down and write the scripts that doesn't mean all that much. Sometimes writing the thing turns it into something else, and having it naturally flow is more important than anything.

After that, it'll be right into Dark Souls 3 which I'm guessing will take me until early May to get a video out. I try to work as quickly as possible but the game is new and, much like Fallout 4, it's going to require a great deal more thought and attention to get it out in a timely manner. Wish me luck.

Thank you all again.
