I'm Going to Japan!
Added 2018-11-08 21:20:53 +0000 UTCHey guys! This week, I've been incredibly busy and focused on school as well as fitness, so I'm sorry that I haven't posted this month's coloring page yet! I really need to rethink my reward tiers to accomodate for my more busy lifestyle now, so that's one of my goals for this month! I've not had any time to answer my business emails, so my priority right now is legal obligations and contracts, but I'll post the color book page hopefully by tomorrow! Postcards and packages should also be shipped out by then, and I'm planning on getting shop orders complete as well, so I don't have a lot of time to do everything in! I've been focusing on schoolwork (I had an exam today and another midterm tomorrow), so things are quite hectic for me.
This week, I found out that I'm going to Japan! I applied three weeks ago and I finally received a confirmation email that I'm accepted on the 10-day trip during spring break, so I'm incredibly excited! I'll be going with two of my best friends here at college, and in the meantime, I'm trying to learn some survival Japanese. I'm lucky to be going with a friend that had lived in Japan until she was 12, so she'll help me out with talking to everyone, but I have a goal to learn a little bit of basic Japanese in the coming months. I've also picked up French again (it destresses me in comparison to Japanese), so I'm really finding passions in other things rather than school or work. It's kind of crazy, but I want to branch out and be more well-rounded, even if I'm pretty bad at learning languages.
Since I am going to Japan and the trip is pretty expensive (and since I would like to help my friend pay for her ticket as well), I'm starting a Japan themed product fundraiser! I'm currently designing three enamel pins, two iron-on patches, a postcard set of four, a sticker sheet, and possibly two single stickers as well. More to come on how those will be coming along, but that's my pet project at the moment. I'm crazy for tackling so many things at once (I have two huge projects due on Monday that I haven't really had the chance to work on), but I'm hoping to stay up a little later this weekend so that I can cross everything off my to-do list.
Patreon is kind of on the back burner for me right now because of all these huge things going on, so I really do need to modify my rewards for you guys, but if you've been feeling dissatisfied with me, just comment and let me know how I can improve!
When it comes to fitness, I've been working on a couple of times a week; I don't set a schedule for it, but I've been going when I have a couple of hours where I feel stressed and want to decompress, and I've been loving taking time to do that rather than eating or binging shows as a way to relax. I have to find a healthy balance for everything, and I think that I need to start using a planner since I'm not as strict with myself on everything that I need to do daily.

I went to see Venom with my friend, and it wasn't good...
I don't recommend it at all; we both went in with no expectations in the hopes of liking it, but it just wasn't good. Not bad, just confusing and nonsensical.

I've been trying to learn French slowly but consistently over the past year (still not very good), so when you said that French distresses you, I laughed way more than I should have, haha! I feel your pain. But is Japanese actually easier for you? For some reason I thought it'd be harder.

And to be honest, some lyrics from their recent album (with the theme of loving yourself) have been helping me through some rough times. They're beautiful. Japan will be AMAZING! I've been saving up for a while and want to go in 2020 but it depends if i get a job by then. My japanese learning has gone on the backburner because of school but it's fun. Suuuuuper complicated language (not to intimidate). Particles, grammar, kanji. But it's so satisfying. I'm that loser where I walk down Japantown in my city and get excited when I can read the store signs. And honestly, you can learn hiragana and katakana in a few days. Some people are good at memorizing them right away like my friends, I benefited from the mnemonic method. If you're a visual learner in general, I think that way is beneficial. Once you get a hang of it, you won't need to think! I don't usually comment much because I'm not too far in learning and there are a lot of eliteists there, but it has great information and you can get help for more specific questions. But again. I may be getting more into the heavier learning side and you're doing just a bit. But if you ever want to look into it for more info! I'll def help with the fundraiser!! I've turned into an enamel pin nerd recently (ouch, my wallet). Maybe an idea for one pin would be something that has a more cultural or traditional subject matter, not quite sure how to explain. Then the other kinda niche or colourful... harajuku/colourful/popculture/'kawaii' styled (for lack of a better term)? Japan is known for both and it could be a cool contrast and fun to do both.
