SJ reminds me of other people I've sort of known, people who were, both crazy and poor. A potent combination - there was a man who lived on a street I lived on ages ago, a modest middle-class sort of neighborhood, he went broke due to apparently a series of bad decisions, losing money investing in get-rich-quick-schemes and so on, he went out of his way to very publicly pretend he still had money, he somehow got one of his few friends left to let him borrow the guy's newish car for a few weeks, while claiming it was his, he made ridiculous boasts to neighbors he thought of as "friends" (until they said or did anything he disagreed with) about how he was going to buy a vacation home on a private island with all of the money he was making from his investments, etc. He was, also according to himself the most hard-done-by person around, suffering mistreatment at the hands of friends, family that turned on him for no reason, etc. and threatened lawsuits that never materialized against neighbors, relatives, etc. over petty things. He kept at this as long as he could until he left for parts unknown and put his house up for sale.
