Moving On and Salon This Week (Change!)
Added 2022-03-21 06:38:10 +0000 UTCSalon’s moving to Thursday/Friday this week, because on Tuesday/Wednesday this week I’m moving house. Or rather packing up my flat, and reducing everything back down to as close to a suitcase as I can get it because I’ll be spending the next four or five months on the road. It’s quite a satisfying exercise in boiling life back down, picking each object and running it through its imagined future utility, taking it, giving it, leaving it at Dad’s house to meet me later down the road.
I feel sad to be saying goodbye to my little flat with its ocean views, and its little converted laundry/study that I made into my podcast studio. Although I had such mixed feelings about being stuck in Sydney, now I feel mixed about leaving. One of those awful human nature things, I guess. Whenever I leave a place for an extended period of time I feel a sort of dread or sadness; like I’m mourning the fork in the road - the version of me that stayed. I feel guilty about letting that Alice evaporate so this one can solidify. Quantum grief. It seems more intense now, loaded with an extra life.
