How is everyone doing? I hope all is well.
I’m finishing up a short side story focused on Hina, showing how the story fills out from her point of view and going more in-depth with her relationship with Goro. I won’t be able to fully explore this in the comic, only through small snippets, but I really wanted to share this side of everything.
I know Hina isn't a fan favorite, but I genuinely love her character. In a lot of ways, she and Shoto are actually very similar, just in different forms.
The upcoming arc will be especially interesting, and I think this extra context will help.
I’ll upload the full short story for Patreons later, along with some other goodies!

In this social class, it's very difficult to break free from this situation if your parents are conservative like hers. And if you consider her state of mind from a psychological pov, her parents always put her down and made her feel as if her only purpose was through Goro. Everything you experience as a child greatly determines your future behavior, and even more so if you don't have good friends. Whether or not you have access to resources doesn't change the fact that her situation is what it is. Her parents will never let her do what she really wants, and if she rebels, she will surely lose her entire inheritance and reputation. I agree that her behavior is annoying, but when you're born a girl into a wealthy family and both your parents are sexist, it makes it difficult to be emancipated and open-minded. It might have been possible for her to change her outlook if she had had a good circle of friends and a true friend like Shoto has, but that doesn't seem to be the case. And I think deep down she knows very well that this is not who she wants to be

2026-01-31 05:16:34 +0000 UTCGirl bye 😭😂 she’s literally insufferable, being a woman in that position is tough I get that, but that still doesn’t excuse her way of thinking that being a man’s doormat is her only choice or purpose in life, that way of thinking is misogynistic, esp when she has so much education, money, and power. It’s not like she’s locked in a cage 24/7. With all the resources she has this is still what she chooses to believe?? nope, no excuses for her. And I honestly refuse to believe that she is the same as Shoto, at least Shoto was brave enough to walk away from what hurt him and choose his own happiness.
