We’re entering a new arc this season titled “Sōsa,” which means manipulation.
To mark it, I’ll be releasing a series of illustrations featuring each character who plays a major role in this arc. These will also be my first illustrations of the year, which is honestly really fun and exciting for me.

The first character, of course, is Goro.
Unintentionally, I think Goro hasn’t been portrayed as truly evil as he can be yet, mostly because in recent arcs we’ve only seen him interacting with Shoto. The upcoming arcs will really highlight how terrifying he can be to people who aren’t Shoto, and I’m genuinely excited to explore that side of him more.

I’m finishing up a short side story focused on Hina, showing how the story fills out from her point of view and going more in-depth with her relationship with Goro. I won’t be able to fully explore this in the comic, only through small snippets, but I really wanted to share this side of everything.

I know Hina isn't a fan favorite, but I genuinely love her character. In a lot of ways, she and Shoto are actually very similar, just in different forms.

The upcoming arc will be especially interesting, and I think this extra context will help.

I’ll upload the full short story for Patreons later, along with some other goodies!

Announcement—Back from Break + Schedule update ✨

Hey guys,

I hope everyone’s doing well.

I’m sure most of you noticed there were no chapter releases this month. Even though I was technically on a break, I was still working behind the scenes to try to stay on schedule for February.

While doing that, I realized I was still pretty burned out from last year. I never really took a proper break from drawing, and 2025 was honestly a very hard year for me. I needed real rest, both mentally and physically. I’m sorry I couldn’t make this post sooner, especially since not everyone keeps up with the membership chat.

This upcoming arc really needs me at my full potential, and I’m finally feeling much more rested now. I want to be as consistent as possible with chapter uploads this year. Going forward, I also plan to take a proper break every four months to avoid burning out again.

I’ll be posting the updated schedule later today or tomorrow. I’m still deciding what I value more: longer, higher-quality chapters, or slightly shorter chapters that allow me to stick to a two-chapters-per-month schedule while still maintaining quality. I’d really appreciate your thoughts on this, so please let me know in the comments.

I’ll also be posting some Patreon exclusives later as a thank-you for your support this month. Don’t worry, a chapter will be released in February, and the updated schedule will go into more detail.

How is everyone doing? I hope all is well during the holidays.

First, I want to sincerely thank all of you for supporting LMB. Especially my patrons. Without you, I genuinely would not be able to continue this story.

There are patrons who have been here since day one, and I am truly grateful for that support. To my new patrons, I hope you stay just as long. I will do my best this new year to solidify the posting schedule and continue improving. Volume two of the print is also currently in progress.

I did take a week off from drawing. I really needed it, even though I didn’t want to. I’ll be starting again on January 2nd, as I’m aiming to release the upcoming chapter soon. I also have a clear idea of how long I want this season to be.

Again, truly, thank you so much for supporting me and for reading Love Murder Basketball. 2025 was an interesting year, and it went by incredibly fast.

I’m still working on a short holiday story related to the Tanaka family illustration, which will be released tomorrow.

Happy Holidays Illustrations 2025 [04]—MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM THE TANAKA FAMILY 🎅[PATREON EARLY ACCESS] [HD]

Happy holidays! I hope everyone is getting some much-needed rest and enjoying the season.

This illustration was a little challenging but also really fun to work on. I tried to fit everyone in. Akira and Ayaka are there too, just not in the frame. Reon is included because Satsujin is basically trying to win him back, and he hasn’t spent Christmas with the Tanaka family in a long time. Satsujin is also wearing Reon’s jacket, which is why it barely fits him, but honestly it still looks good on him.

Himari has always spent Christmas with them, and recently Ashanti has started joining as well. The two kids by the tree are Shufen, the one with black hair, and Hebi’s daughter. Shufen is the older one. He usually spends Christmas with them in Tokyo, while his mother stays in Osaka.

Eiko is there too, though she tends to tune everyone out and shop online once she’s done eating.

If I have enough time, I might release a short story for patrons based on this illustration. I think it would be fun to show how everyone interacts during the holidays. And yes, believe it or not, Hiro is the one who made all the food.

Hey everyone, just a quick update. The chapter is taking a bit longer than usual because I added extra panels and ended up going about two pages over my normal length. So you’re basically getting almost two chapters in one.

The scenes are more complex and intimate, and since this is my first time handling them completely on my own, I want to take the time to get them right.

DEATHROCKERZ INTERVIEW 2025 (PATREON EXCLUSIVE)

I wanted to release a new DEATHROCKERZ interview featuring the entire band for you guys. Enjoy!

• Interviewer: It’s a good day today. We have the entire band here for the interview. How is the year treating everyone?

• Reon: It’s fine. A bit cold.

• Karasu: Yeah, we have been on tour all year, so it is good to finally be back in Japan.

• Ezra: I wish we could have slept a little longer today.

• Interviewer: Ha, well, we apologize for that. Our studio is always grateful when our interviews are accepted.

• Rinski: Ezra is just grumpy from the flight. Do not mind him.

• Reon: Well, it was a twelve-hour flight.

• Interviewer: And we were told that DEATHROCKERZ will be taking a break from touring for the next year. Is there a reason for that?

• Karasu: Mostly we are homesick. I also want to spend more time with my family.

• Reon: I just want to sleep more. We do not get much of that.

• Rinski: Not sure. I guess I miss my own bed instead of a hotel bed.

• Ezra: It is hard to find good Japanese food outside of Japan.

• Interviewer: Those are all good reasons. The new album Concessions was a huge success, especially in Asia. How do you feel about that?

• Karasu: It took us almost a full year to complete that album. We are happy our fans enjoyed it. Reon helped me a lot on guitar.

• Reon: Our main focus was making sure the tracks were in sync with Karasu’s vocals.

• Ezra: It is annoying that he will not admit he is a vocal genius.

• Karasu: I cannot take all the praise. We all worked hard on it.

• Rinski: Our leader is always humble, but he kept us on track. That is why the album sounds the way it does.

• Interviewer: I agree. Now, there was a video that went viral on social media. It was a clip of Ezra and Rinski kissing on stage during a performance.

• Karasu: Rinski.

• Rinski: Ha. Oh no, we did not just kiss. We made out.

• Ezra: Do not be disgusting. It was for the fans.

• Reon: Right.

• Interviewer: Well, the fans enjoyed it. But we also saw other videos of you two on and off stage.

• Interviewer: You were seen at hotels, clubs, and restaurants.

• Rinski: Yeah, of course. We are bandmates. It makes sense.

• Interviewer: Without the rest of the band.

• Interviewer: So fans would like to know. Are you two an item?

• Ezra: An item? Do not be ridiculous.

• Rinski: We are not an item. We just enjoy each other.

• Interviewer: I-I am sorry...?

• Ezra: We enjoy each other’s company. To be specific.

• Interviewer: Oh, I see. So it is just a bromance.

• Karasu: We are all close.

• Rinski: Sure. Our bromance. I enjoy it. The fans understand.

• Interviewer: I am glad everyone gets along. And Reon, there has been a lot of news about your relationship with the model Satsujin.

• Interviewer: Is it awkward dating your bandmate’s brother?

• Reon: Awkward? Not really. It just happened.

• Reon: I guess you could say he seduced me.

• Reon: There is not much to explain. If you are around him, you see he has that effect on people.

• Reon: He is tall and attractive, and he does not care what people think. That is seductive.

• Interviewer: You are not wrong. He is always in the media for something, but it does not affect his career.

• Karasu: My brother is eccentric. He has always been like that since we were children.

• Karasu: In a good way, they balance each other out.

• Reon: I guess so.

• Interviewer: Recently, there was a video of you two fighting in a restaurant. Fans were upset. How did that make you feel, Reon?

• Reon: It was annoying having my private life out there like that.

• Interviewer: Understandable, especially with how private you are.

• Reon: I love my fans, but couples fight. It was not unusual.

• Interviewer: Fans were worried because it seemed to escalate. They also noticed bruises on you in some press photos.

• Karasu: Maybe we should move on.

• Reon: It is fine, Su. I can answer it.

• Reon: The bruises were not from Satsujin.

• Interviewer: Understandable. Then who were they from? What happened?

• Reon: It was not him. My fans should not put the blame on him. Couples argue all the time.

• Rinski: Ha, that is true. Some more than others. Right?

• Rinski: I sometimes hit Ezra upside the head when he is being an idiot.

• Ezra: What? We are not a couple.

• Interviewer: Haha. I understand.

• Interviewer: And Karasu, during our interview a year ago, we asked about your private life. Any updates now? Anything to share with fans?

• Karasu: No. I am still single. But I did get a new electric guitar. It is lovely.

• Karasu: That is my baby sister. Do not worry. I am focused on my career.

• Karasu: When I am in Japan and have time. She is in high school now, so she is busy too.

Ultimate Decision - Please read ✨

This might be a long or short post, but I just wanted to share my thoughts.

I’ve decided that I’ll be focusing only on the main plot points of the story in the comic. Any extra or bonus content that isn’t essential to the main narrative will instead be released separately in novel format.

Originally, I planned for LMB to have 4–5 seasons, but I’ve decided to complete it in three.

Before the art style change, my plan was still 4–5 seasons. But to be completely honest, I didn’t expect so much backlash after the change, especially since it wasn’t something I had any control over. I genuinely just wanted to continue the story for everyone who’s been following it.

I worked hard to improve the art within a few months, but I understand that for some readers, it’s hard to accept a different look. Many have become attached to the old style, and now some are even nitpicking the story itself. Unfortunately, I feel like parts of my own fandom have turned against me. Not everyone feels that way, of course, but it has affected my motivation more than I’d like to admit.

I’ve tried to stay positive and avoid regrets, but I do regret collaborating at the start of the series. If I could go back, I’d work alone from the beginning. Not everyone shares the same passion or vision, and I’ve learned that the hard way.

I truly love LMB and believe it has great potential, but it’s been very stressful and difficult for my mental health to push beyond three seasons. I’m an independent creator, there’s no big team behind me. Once my mental health crashes, that’s it.

I still want to give my best and finish LMB properly, without rushing, but I also want to explore the other stories and genres I’ve created. My next project will definitely be BL, though I don’t think it will be independently published.

Thank you to everyone who’s supported me so far. I’ll keep doing my best to finish LMB strong in three seasons.

Quick anatomy study! I used Miharu since she has my favorite body type in the comic. Lately, I’ve been drawing a lot of women’s bodies and really enjoying it, but I’ve noticed I naturally lean toward thicker builds. It’s both a gift and a curse; I want to practice a variety of body types, but thick thighs and fuller figures have me in a chokehold… on both women and men. It’s just such an attractive look.

Miharu is perfect for this, since she’s described as soft and possessing a timeless beauty, exactly Itami’s type in women (understandably).

Someday, I’d love to create a Yuri comic just so I can draw as many women as possible.

New Chapter date update ✨

Hey guys,

I know some of you might be losing patience with me at this point, and I truly apologize. But no worries, I’ve just been a little sidetracked working on VOLUME 2 of LMB for print so it can be sent to publishers and made available for pre-orders.

This month, only one chapter will be released. But don’t worry, it’ll be worth the wait! The upcoming chapters are longer and packed with more story and details, so I want to make sure everything is done right. As much as I’d love to release them sooner, rushing would only hurt the quality. Improving my art and storytelling is my main focus so you can enjoy the story to its fullest.

Chapter 075 will be released on October 23rd.

I’ll also be updating the schedule with new release dates. Two chapters are already planned for November and December.
