Emails I Can't Send Analysis- "Vicious"

I discuss the way Sabrina Carpenter uses direct and indirect characterization, exposition and literary devices to tell a story and establish a tone.

So, there's a huge debate on what the song actually is about (one of her exes or the people/fans that turned her back on her during the 2021 drama surrounding sour) I personally feel like it's a little bit of both, but Sabrina did confirm that it is autobiagrophical but followed that statement clarifying that this is about how she felt in a specific moment, not how she feels now, and if you do think the song is about Joshua (which a lot of people do) you can really see how on most of the "breakup songs" she doesn't sound mad like on vicious, just frustrated and sad.

I love how vulnerable Sabrina feels in this whole album. Obviously it's the inner thoughts you never say, but she put them out into the world anyway!
