Progress Update (Spooky Edition)

Howdy GGN,
Just wanted to update you on what's coming up next. Also, hope your October has been gloomy and spooky as it should be. For starters I decided to cut short a stream of Grimpressions videos because I got into a good rhythm working on 3 things at once.

Thing 1: A full game review of an old FMV adventure game that will be on the shorter side, but I am the furthest along with it. Right now it's looking like it will be around 35-40mins, but there is plenty of time to add in some silly garbage around it. I'm keeping the game choice there a secret because it is really dumb and I would like you to experience the disappointment as a surprise :)

Thing 2: Another full review of a game that right now isn't even out yet, but will be released on the 27th called SIGNALIS. This one will likely be much longer as there is a lot to pick apart about it. Right now I'm in the writing phase and I'm about 7 pages in and it's chugging along. The dev gave me the go ahead to just spoil the whole thing day one, but I'm not confident enough that I'd make that deadline, so that will probably be done closer to end of OCT/start of NOV. I also wanted to do two vids closer together because, since it's a new game that I'm sure many into survival horror will be interested in, they'd probably wait to watch the video. This way there will at least be something to tide you over if you're skipping that one. I dunno, I dunno how new games work, it's been too long. It's not like an ad or anything, they just sent me a key and it turned out I had a lot of notes on it. Anyways, hope that turns out alright hah.

Thing 3: I've had substantially more time to work on music (or rather more time alone to scream and embarrass myself). I've made a lot of progress on the "album" I've been work-shopping. It's a collection of songs that I am LEAST embarrassed of, and they are all unified by a concept. That concept being a fake video game universe that I made up. There was a time last year that I was looking into game design and while I do think I learned a lot about it, I was sort of scared by how much time I could sink into it just bit by bit trying to get one thing to do the other so I stepped away, but I still had a bunch of left over ideas and I thought it would be neat to channel that into music. Some of it appeared on my channel before, but will be cleaned up/altered, but the rest is new stuff. I was lagging on it for a while but I got a lot done (the tracklist is pictured above there, and the asterisks are tracks that are pretty much done barring any last minute changes) I've also commissioned some art for the cover which should be really neat and if I figure out how it works i'd like to try to get some physical releases or at least get it on spotify. We'll see.

Extra Thing: A while ago I asked if anyone would buy holographic Parapug stickers featuring my fan art doodle of him. Well I couldn't let the idea go so I had some made. Haven't seen them yet, but they should be arriving soon. If they are super cool, I'll look into the best way to sell them.

Alright, I'm gonna get back to it, but as always thank you so much for all your support. It never really leaves my mind that like, I get to work on all this stuff and pursue these weird goals on a whim because of you. Thanks so much <3

Happy Spooky Month, Grim. All looks like a feast.

That all sounds great. I've been looking forward to Signalis, so will probably pass on the review until I've completed it. But I think It's really cool that devs are sending you keys to their games early. It's a clear sign that you've finally made it to the big leagues. :) Just a quick question. Is there anyway you could make some of your older videos you've deleted available through Patreon at some point? I understand removing the MARS video because of some of the humour in it, but you also removed your Virginia, Clock Tower and Walking Dead Reviews which were fine I thought. I understand disliking your older content, but many of us love those videos and have a lot of nostalgia for them. Anyways, apologies for the long comment. Looking forward to the new videos. Peace.

Parapug. Yes please. Do a holographic shirt with the pug on the back and a grim logo on the left breast, and I will not only buy one, I’ll get that fucker tattood on me.

Jimmy Changa

Excited for all of it. Keep up the great work Grim

Joon Choi

Physical album would be a must own. I know cd burning and stuff could get expensive but damn how sick would it be to have his cd in your car.

matt duman

Very exciting, definitely looking forward to the album.

SimplyCifer

Omg if that album was released physically that would be an instant buy

Dyna

Also I will buy at least 2 shirts with that Parapug design!

YESSSSS A NEW ALBUM IM SO FUCKING HYPE I have already featured tracks of yours on my no-profit, all passion Audiosurf channel and when this comes out--boiiiii I'm all for shilling your tunes. Also very excited to hear, and well, SEE, another FMV game. Hopefully 2023 can be the year of FMV games and you can use that program where it can rotoscope you easily like that one fella does with his vids--Fallen Aces also uses it for cutscenes I reckon. My wife and I both send our love. Keep it up champ; that's short for, "Champion."
