Update and Thanks

Firstly, I'd like to thank all my new patrons and those who upped their pledge recently. You guys are amazing and actively saving me! Haha. It's very slowly looking like taking a lower paying job to spend more time on my channel might one day NOT be the biggest mistake I've made. So, seriously, thank you. Secondly, I was on a roll, getting content out for a bit (well, it was a roll for me). But, somewhere in between moving my PC over to a place I was housitting and then trying to clean it, I managed to horrifically corrupt my OS. This led to a good three days of trying to repair a deeply corrupt PC with spotty internet, no original OS disc, and deepening anxiety as a result of being unproductive. But, after a lot of pacing back and forth, watching bars move, transferring shit I downloaded from my phone to my PC, and half watching Investigation Discovery, I'm back to work. If you watched my last video (very few did) you'll know my next video is about Observer and I expect it to be as long if not longer than my Soma review. I have a lot I want to do with it, so hopefully I don't try your patience too much with it. Anyway, just wanted to let ya know, I'm working hard to make your pledge...ya know...worth it. :P Send me review suggestions or suggestions for videos I can do under the Doxaphobia moniker. I wanna use those to sort of pad out reviews and be a little more open as far as subject and format. Thanks again. Stay grim. GB

I can get into Djent sometimes, though I am sort of picky about it. Sometimes it drifts into this metalcore/nu metal territory that i'm not overly fond of. I love the technicality and complexity of it, but I think stylistically I lean more towards the more Blackened/Death side of things. There was a band that I think broke up called Ovid's Withering that I thought was great. More recently Rivers of Nihil have put out some good stuff. Their most recent album Where Owls Know My Name has this sick ass sax solo in the second track that comes OUT OF NOWHERE, but super fits. The vocals on a Djent project are usually the most make or break thing for me though. So, I can get into a lot of Instrumental stuff. Anywho, hope that answers ya question! <3

Here are some suggestions that might be appropriate for the GrimBeard a e s t h e t i c. Cultist Simulator would be a great fit, and it's not too expensive. It's a very unusual game with a lot of polarizing design choices, a lot you could talk about, but not very story driven, mostly about the atmosphere and the lore. I know you're a big Bioshock fan, so Prey would be an obvious recommendation, especially as it's all about riffling through people's offices and bedrooms in space, but it's still pretty expensive. The Last Door is a very well reviewed point & click pixel horror on Steam, though I've not yet played it. I think The Evil Within could be a surprisingly good fit for the channel too, seeing as it's a janky survival horror where everyone is wearing 60's detective waistcoats and every conversation is needlessly cryptic. That's it. That's all I got. Keep up the good work! Planning on upping my pledge soon, as long as my budget stays consistent.

I’d love to hear your opinions on djent. I know some people don’t really get on with it but i’ve been enjoying it for a while now. If you’re not into it I can recommend Meshuggah on the heavier side and TesseracT on the cleaner side. Either way keep making awesome videos!
