LYWTTA) Space And Time
Added 2024-05-18 03:16:50 +0000 UTCYuki sat on her bed, with Delia tending to Nana at the side. In her hands was a copy of one of the books she had gotten from the Dean: “Space and time. Two things that can not go without the other. Without time, space can not be. And without space, there would be no time.”
Yuki scratched her head. She was not sure if this was true but she felt like she remembered seeing something on this back on Earth that had said the same thing. “Space and time can be controlled. You can create a subspace that has time paused or a space where time flows at a faster or slower rate. You can also create a space that flows naturally with the time outside.
“Those within this space would not feel much change if time was faster or slower. To them, time would be flowing normally. Even if time was stopped and started again, the person who experienced time stopped would only feel bewilderment if there were any changes.
“The human mind reacts differently to time and will adjust accordingly.” Yuki kicked her feet into the air. She felt this was quite deep for a magic book.
“To use space and time, one must let go of all aspects of reality. Since reality can cause your mind to feel locked in the current flow of time. Once you are able to break off from the reality in front of you, you can begin understanding the true essence of space and time.” Yuki raised an eyebrow. She understood what this was saying. Space and time could not be used by just anyone since it would require them to let go of what they considered the norm. Space and time was altering the reality around them.
Like if she wanted time to stop, if she was still too attached to the flow of time in front of her, even if she knew the runes to create a space-time spell it would not work. But this did not mean she would need to go into her own dream-like state and become a crazy person, either. It just meant she had to let go of the fundamental understandings of the world and see beyond the flow of time to allow herself to actually create her own space of time around her.
Yuki had long passed that point since her rebirth as a fox girl. With how things were and how there were mystic realms that were, in a sense, their own small worlds with their own space-time, she could easily understand how space-time magic works. But one must first actually experience it to understand it. Or spend hundreds of years just trying to break out of the grasp that reality has on them.
“Once you have let go of your concept of reality you can then try to stop the flow of time by etching your circle with the runes needed.” Yuki’s eyes lit up. This was what she was looking for! She slowly read through the entire book and took notes here and there. Only when the morning sun was about to rise did Yuki finally decide to try to form her third circle.
Runic markings glowed in front of Yuki as she organized them in the correct format. Each one was drawn with her mana, and each one, once finished, floated up into its slow in a circle in front of her. They glowed with a blackish-purplish light. Rotating around almost dancing as if they were waiting for their brethren to appear.
The strange thing about this runic circle was the aura it was giving off. It felt ancient almost as if it was a power only the gods should wield. “Last one…” Yuki took a deep breath. This was all or nothing to see if her runic circle would fail. Unlike other classes of magic space and time were not something she could really imagine in what she wanted to do. She understood which each rune was but she was only imitating the book itself. If she did something wrong it would cause a backlash which could injure her. Space-time could be used in many ways, and she had an idea of what she wanted, but putting it to actual understanding and using the runes to do what she wanted would take time. It was a delicate process.
Right now, she just wanted to get her third runic circle formed and go from there. Then, she could test the waters and slowly understand space-time magic more. This would require her to go over all the materials she could and practice.
“Done!” Yuki finished the last rune, and it floated up into the air. Attaching itself to the last spot that was empty in the circle of runes. The runic circle suddenly shined with a bright blackish-purple light before shooting into Yuki. It floated next to her other two runic circles and settled down. An ancient aura started to flow out of her body. It was weak, but it was there.
