Gambling comes to Skyrim... or Balfiera anyway
Added 2018-09-03 01:35:26 +0000 UTCSo I have always wanted Skyrim to have some immersive mini games like card games, dice, knife throwing, pie eating, whatever so....
I spent the last two days doing the most absurdly small and menial task: make a dice that actually rolls (check; thanks Highever Rains), and make it calculate the resulting roll and in a real, interactive way! You Z grab any of the 3 dice, lift it up and drop it onto the table. The other two pop up there with it and they all fall randomly into the table and add up to a total value shown on the dice!
Next thing is to implement this into a dialog quest so you can talk to an NPC, bet and win (or lose) some money or other interesting prizes :) additionally this system will eventually be available for modder use! My intent is to build a game where you talk with the NPC and each get 3 rolls of 3 dice where the total value accumulates and you get to raise between each roll (or forfeit) and the highest value in the end wins. Rolling all 1's in any single roll means immediate loss. Overall the system seems to work pretty well, minus a few quirks, but I'm confident these minor issues will be worked out soon and we'll have an awesome gambling game in Act of Odyssey and beyond!
