Quick question (Fallout 4)
Added 2025-07-05 09:46:13 +0000 UTCThe Lone Wanderer perk famously applies when you have Dogmeat with you, even if the perk clearly states "when adventuring without a companion." If that perk were to only have an effect when you're truly alone (without anyone, including Dogmeat), how would this make you feel?

Back when I played FO4 - and one of these days, I am probably going to give Magnum Opus a try - one of the first things I did, was find a mod that let Lone Wandered work while I had Dogmeat by my side. I don't like human followers in Bethesda games (even the good ones) but Dogmeat was a must.

2025-07-06 00:50:43 +0000 UTCThe story I have always heard is that Dogmeat was always supposed to be in his own companion slot, such as in FO3. However close to release they decided to not do that for balance reasons. I always thought that was BS. And one of the most popular mods out there is Everyone's Best Friend.
