The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway - Genesis - Summer of Prog

Continuing Summer of Prog, I'm reviewing another long requested classic: The Lamp Lies Down on Broadway by Genesis, a double album and their last with frontman Peter Gabriel. It's a rock opera set in New York City as Rael goes on a spiritual journey, coming across many strange sights along the way.

To be honest, I had a really hard time putting this one together, mostly due to past experiences with Phil Collins people claiming copyright on YouTube. So I decided to break the format and do most of this off-script with some voiceovers leftover from my abandoned full review of this album. Hopefully ya'll still enjoy it. The next review will be closer in spirit to my other reviews. I appreciate everyone's support.

The CEO was VERY pushy, I'll leave it at that...

Hairless Heart is definitely a highlight.

I have a remastered 2CD version of this album and I agree. It starts great but definitely loses steam towards the end. The best songs are really good and Heartless Heart reminds me of Pink Floyd. Still there are some mediocre songs that make me lose interest a bit. Definitely one of the essential Genesis albums despite some weaker songs,

Fuck that CEO, greedy scumbag. I still liked this video, I just find it so enraging when these CEOs worry about losing pennies to a YouTuber using 20 seconds of their song / video. I sympathize with you very much with Youtube’s copyright bullshit
