Hi Guys, this month I have a hardware release for you.
Back in January I hinted that I was looking at using 3D shapes exported from Virt-a-Mate. Well, I finally got around to putting some serious design time into one of those concepts and this is the result.
This is a receiver for the SR6 that incorporates a contoured female abdomen shape in a strong but lightweight structure. These are probably some of the most intricate parts I have ever designed. The shape is imported from a VaM model and smoothed out using witchcraft. This structure is in 3 parts: 1x base and 2x wings (L&R are symmetrical so use your slicer's mirror function). You will need 8x M3x10 bolts and 4x M3 nuts for assembly.
This design is an experiment. I have been thinking about future machines and it strikes me that a machine up from the SR6 is something akin to an animatronic pair of filled cycle shorts that straddles and rides the user. Could such a machine be home built? This is a first attempt to explore some of the tech that might be needed.
Feedback is very welcome. I plan to talk more about this concept in an upcoming livestream, so stay tuned for that.
In the meantime, have fun!
