June '22 Update

Hi Guys it's time for my June update.

I'm aware that I've not been doing anywhere near enough self-promotion recently so I've created a video of the OSR2 and SR6 robots synced to a classic Virt-a-Mate scene. Unlike my patron video content this is a public video on YouTube.

It sounds silly, but this makes a huge difference to how many people get suggested the video through the YouTube browse functions. Subscribe as well if you'd like to see more free videos. This won't be the last.

This month for the Maker ($8) tier I am going to get out an update to the SR6 build document. I'm going to add in the T-wist 4 and shields updates. All of this so that I can get my "start here" post fully up to date with packs for both OSR2 and SR6. This sort of stuff seems to take far longer than I expect, but if I have time I also want to take a look at my VaM plugin, which is overdue some updates.

My Benefactor ($16) tier patrons will have seen some interesting work I have been doing with python and video motion capture scripts, and we talked about this on last month's hangout. The video is currently available on discord and I am going to get my dispatches out in the next few days.

For my Supporter ($2) tier this month I will be livestreaming on Monday 13th June at 11pm BST (5pm EDT). I'm not sure yet but I think I might talk about how to write a python script on a computer to drive an OSR2. As always I'll edit the livestream down into a useful length video afterward.

In other news, I have been in some exciting conversations recently with various creators for more multi-axis content, but it's early days so I won't say anything specific yet.

(Edit 15/7/22: The video has been removed from YouTube. It turns out that fully clothed virtual people dry humping is verboten on that platform.

It feels impossible to win with YouTube to be honest. A video marked as adult content will be removed for being (extremely mild) adult content. At the same time I have has a lot people complaining that they couldn't watch the video without being signed in to YouTube because I set it to be adult restricted.

If anybody knows of an alternate platform where I won't have to deal with with this kind of BS do let me know.)
