September Update - Plugin & SR6 progress

Hi Guys,

Like a lot of us I've had a busy summer, with illness and a couple of major life events. I want to get back to business as usual, so this is my update for September.

I'm pleased to say that this month I have gotten down to some serious detail design work and the detailed design for SR6 Beta is taking shape. The main difference is a total redesign of the base and enclosure. The Alpha design was always a stopgap and in the Beta I want to achieve the same ease of construction and access that we have in the OSR2.

The other big difference with the SR6 Beta will be a complete set of detailed, step-by-step build instructions. Because of its complexity SR6 will never be as easy to put together as OSR2, but I want to make it just as accessible. I want anybody to be able to experience mindblowing six axis movement, because it is night and day compared with a single axis stroker.

SR6 Beta is a lot of work, so in the meantime I have some smaller releases coming up this month. At the $8 tier I will be releasing a first update to my new VaM plugin. This adds T-valve functionality to the plugin. I also have a bug fix, which addresses a model tracking connect/disconnect issue that can cause a sudden jerk when the models lose contact during gameplay. The fix makes the transition a lot smoother.

Also at $8 tier I intend to issue an update to the OSR2 starter pack to include the ESP32, which seems to be an increasingly popular option.

For the $2 tier I will give you guys a sneak peak of how SR6 Beta is coming along in the next few days.

As always a big thanks to all of you who support my work and keep me in business. It's with your help that I can continue to raise the bar on these kinds of computer controlled toys.

ok no problem, I just like staying on the main branch if possible, the further off you get the less compatible you are with future stuff. Are you running your SR6 on USB power or a power bus? hopefully there's an ESP32 out there that works like the old board

I think there are at least a couple of people on the discord server who have designed and made hats for the ESP32 that allow that. I designed the tray to allow space to accommodate them.

I would definitely appreciate an easy power setup for the ESP32 for the next revision that let us just plug in the servo cables. Network support like Khrull is doing would be appreciated also. Official vibe, lube, heating support would be great as well. Hopefully there's a way to incorporate these third party features for everyone's benefit without stepping on the toes of the innovators.

I will be using the same ESP32 (and tray) as the current design uses.

Looking forward to upgrading my SR6 Alpha! Probably should wait for instructions before buying some ESP32
