The Pistol Scope Fits

The spite keltec is still hard at work.  Now adapted into what I call the Pistol Caliber Scout Carbine (PCSC) configuration.  Weight with a full 32-round magazine creeps up to 7lbs, however I believe I can shed some of that off the rings.

Honestly, it feels way better than expected.
I need to test fire and zero though, so no clue if it will hold.

Still gotta sort out the flashlight somewhow...
I also will explore whether or not the S&W mags can be adapted to work in a Steyr handgun.
If so I will adapt this Keltec to match so it and my L9 can run the same.

Here is the parts list so far

KelTec Sub 2000 Gen 2 - Green

S2K- GATOR HIDE BOLT SLEEVE

(not sure how I feel about this yet)

M-Carbo:

It took me a minute looking at that. Like "why is that 1 Kel-Tec so much bigger than those other 2...do they make like a big boy kel-tec? or a 22?" Then I realized its all the same gun ☺

Adam

Good christ, can you imagine having to swap the light over after every reload? Or having a light on every mag? πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

CountryRock _2001

For the light, short run of Picatinny rail and a pistol light (TLR-1, for example).

John Krywy

At times i thing Othias just likes to stir the pot and watch things burn.

David Burnham

I'd shoot it.

Desmond Johnson

Por que no los dos?

Christopher James Henry

Kel-Tec? On C&Rsenal?? Is it April 1st? ;-)

Paul Bonvini

Sweet!

oh god

C&Rsenal

so far the box is very forgiving on this cheap BSA. I just fear it falling apart

C&Rsenal

XD that's probably the stupidest thing I've seen today. I LOVE IT

LER/pistol scopes tend to be long for their magnification.

Bruce Brodnax

It would be nice if K-T offered this in 10mm Auto, but the best bet would b 40S&W. 45acp just doesn't benefit sufficiently from a longer barrel to use it in a carbine.

Bruce Brodnax

When Kelgren came up w/ the design back in the '90s, optics weren't the de riguer sighting system that they are now. And of course, Bubba Jeffy's AWB was in full force. Could Kel-Tec go to a Gen3 design & improve upon things more? Undeniably, but given their track record at production of new products sufficient to meet demand, do you really want to wait another 5 years for one if they released the new design tomorrow? ;-) PS -- SFDS mags may have their negative aspects, but the whole point to this thing is that it takes the same mag as your pistol...

Bruce Brodnax

You guys have a ton going on but it’d be neat to have a Sub-2000 Primer. I do like the scout scope look the optics mount gives it.

Chris Stochaj

That's a lot of scope for a 9mm.

Andrew MacDougall

For the flashlight, there is the magazine base plate option. You can get a replacement CZ75 base plate with a short picrail like this one -- https://mantisx.com/products/magrail-cz-75-magazine-floor-plate-rail-adapter -- then use a slide-on light with a QD lock, like this -- https://www.the-armory.com/shopsite_sc/store/html/utg-120-lumen-sub-compact-pistol-light.html

I have always had a fascination with these things but can’t make myself drop the money to buy one. Maybe a 45 configuration?

Chris Marchi

Deadly at 100 kilometers?

Chris Marchi

I have done all these updates except I used the Mcarbo tube sleeve also I stuck with a Holosun HS403C sight, tried a long eye relief scope but the eye box is small and just didn't work for me. Mine is Glock mag version and with a 50 round drum it is a ball.

Gary A

I'm not sure if I am looking at the very definition of lipstick on a pig or if this is actually going to turn out to be good. I guess range time will tell.

Geoff Lamb

Ok, so how in the world did you know I bought a Sub 2000 this week?

Sean Morrison

Daddy, will I be a swan when I grow up? More like a goony bird my child, but daddy loves you anyway.

Wayne Dygert

Ohhh.... So it's an **Artillery** KelTec. :)

Brian Ingram

Gloriously ridiculous

Jackson Darr

The base weapon is meh. Much better to side hinge. If you consider how much you have put into the accessories, you might as well have machined an aluminium alloy hinged receiver. You would then generally avoid the issue of having to rotate optics etc. Also, the charging handle is much better just on the bolt body itself since there is no ejection port cover. This clears the entire space behind the pistol grip/magwell for additional magazine stowage etc. The Kel Tec way of cheapening out the key elements is just not a smart way to approach firearms production in the consumer age. Also, the choice of double stack, single position feed mags sucks. In the age of hi cap bans etc. mebbe but in post-AWB Renaissance, it makes no sense. Make beautiful mags optimized for the task.

Simon Tan

How does it balance? It looks really forward heavy and then still to put on a light..... would seem to be really out of balance. I do like that rotating forend though. Is that difficult to unlock, rotate and lock again?

Josey

I’m not a fan of these things, I I have to admit, this build is pretty neat!
