Message received.  Here is a snapshot of the Sub2000 I was talking about in the podcast.
This is a work in progress.  Obviously it still needs a custom rail mount under the front sight for a flashlight and, of course, a "scout scope."

But honestly, even as-is it is pretty fun.
Here is a list of the current features:

M-Carbo

KEL-TEC SUB-2000 All In One Pro Performance Trigger Job Bundle
KEL-TEC SUB-2000 Rear Tactical Folding Sights
KEL-TEC SUB-2000 Double Finger Extended Charging Handle
    KEL-TEC SUB-2000 Recoil Buffer

Red Lion

Gen 2 Sub 2000 Front Sight
    Gen 2 Sub 2000 Forend

Other

Blitzkrieg Components AR Spike Front Sight Post
Promag S&W M&P mags (various and for testing for Steyr conversion)

edit:

Also for anyone curious, the whole forend rotates and the irons flip down for the red doot.
I also modified the charging handle "hold open" into an actual safety slot like on an SMG.

I want a sub-2000, I just wish it was made by a company other than Keltec.

David Falbo

I love that you are tinkering with this. Be nice to have a random talking discord podcast with Ian; he can bring up his new FG42 and you can discuss this build. I can hear him now, "wait... you have what now? And are doing what?"

My SKS is my no pressure gun

Chris Marchi

I’ve always considered one but something always hold me back

Chris Marchi

It should, the red lion forend has indexing points. At least for 100 yard work

C&Rsenal

not to my knowledge

C&Rsenal

Neat but it makes the gun wider when stowed.

C&Rsenal

I proclaim Othais to be President of "Sub-2000 Lovers Anonymous" ... those coming out of the closet need an unapologetic and brave leader.

Arturo Ceron

Do you even care if it holds zero?

Robert LaPadura

I've got the same pistol dot on a takedown 10/22. It works great when you want to keep something small and stow-able.

BillFerShort

I wonder if they would ever make an Echo trigger mod for it?

Chris Marchi

I am confused, which front did this serve on? ;)

Greg Stachowski

Looks ugly but effective, just like an old school smg.

Matthew Doye

Does KEL-TEC make the in .45? I really want a .45 carbine of some sort, but everything I've looked at is too pricey!

Dr. B

Well there's something you don't see on C&Rsenal every day. 🀨

Andrew MacDougall

I’ve had good luck with M*Carbo’s flip to side optic mount.

Ryan D Thorne

Don't worry, I have more work to do.

C&Rsenal

Oh, I know. I just didn't expect it to be so...effective. I was expecting something that was kind of meme-y, but also kind of cool in spite of itself. But that's just cool.

Steven Faiello

hmmm

C&Rsenal

oh yes.

C&Rsenal

You know, an osmium bolt weight would be a pretty sweet addition...

James McKenzie

When you unfold it, you literally have a "shoulder thing that goes up", if you hold it the right way. I kinda think sub2000's are uglier than sin, but if it works for you and gives you the giggles, more power to you. We all have our weaknesses.

Josey

That's a niftier setup than the MI swivel mount.

James McKenzie

I honestly never thought of cutting out the safety slot, I kinda liked being able to simulate HK Slap lol

That's a nice setup, mine had the midwest mount and a cheapo red dot, I had no issues with it honestly other than it not being allowed to be a truck gun as far as Ohio is concerned. The height of that red dot makes it look like an ear weld gun...a scout scope honestly is not the worst Idea in the world because I rung steel plates at 100 yards with just a red dot, with a scout scope you can probably double even my longest accurate shot

So when is it going to Henry at 9 hole?

Wayne Dygert

It is specifically designed to make people who hate keltecs want a keltec.

C&Rsenal

For all the talk about this thing, I was expecting something way more...tasteless? That's actually pretty cool, and I say that as someone who hates Sub2ks.
