January 2022 Patreon Release!

Good evening all! It's the 5th of January, apologies for the delay in this month's release, but we have miniatures both big and small, from infantry leaders to indomitable leviathans!

If you're new here, you'll receive your files via MyMiniFactory, either through an email invitation to redeem your files through their site, or if you already have an account, it'll get added to your library automatically - don't worry if you don't get your files right away, however, as it might take me a little while to issue them, as it's a manual process. In addition, on the store page you can see all the previous releases of models - if you've missed out on something and want to get your hands on it, fear not, for as a Patron, you can use a discount code (check the post after this one for it!) to get 15% off all your digital purchases from the Solwyte Studio store!

This month, we've got a bunch of all-new things for you to download and print (and if you're anything like me, add to the pile of things that'll get painted one day), so let's start with the biggest thing first!

First up, the Kaliakos - good god this thing is absolutely stacked in detail! As you can see, its had quite some work done to it over the past month; a full torso with emplaced weapons, steps to walk around the top, armoured plating around the front and sides, huge rear engines and a power core, pistons that articulate a heavyweight coil that supports the body as a suspension system, vents and fans across the entire structure to cool it down, plus a pair of front-facing ball-mounted secondary cannons - that is, secondary cannons that are the Nyphia-Class Secutor Construct's primary weapons. It also features doubled-up weapon systems at the rear - in this case, a pair of fuel canisters for prolonged flamethrower use, but both the secondary weapons and their systems are interchangeable with the triple laser destroyers, plasma annihilators, gatling cannons and eradication cannons that are also part of the Nyphia's wargear.

I can also finally reveal its total height when stood at its tallest is 692mm, though this doesn't include the firing platform's guns, and the surface area of the firing platform structure is approximately 85cm². In addition, in the torso behind each arm joint, there's also space for a 30mm diameter magnet, too, allowing you to attach or detach each arm for transport!

Note that, at present, everything is designed to fit on both an Anycubic Photon (or any small-format printer) and larger printers such as the Elegoo Saturn - that is, everything except the main torso structure, for which alternative cuts will be provided at a later date. Simply put, I just didn't have time to make them!

Next up, let's go to the other end of the scale, shall we?

Though this isn't the first Marshal to appear, this is a much closer representation of how I wanted the original to look - now, featuring a bespoke set of heavy armour, a crown-like helmet and all the wargear they could possibly strap to themselves (with an optional cloak, too!), I feel this properly conveys the brutality that I originally had in mind. Also, unlike its predecessor, this one doesn't have a massively out-of-proportion head.

Included are options for the body with and without a cloak, and each arm is separate, allowing you to interchange them with weapons from any previous Skjalos Guard infantry releases. There's also a headless, cloakless version included in the extras folder so you can make one with a head of your choice!

Let's continue with the character theme with the multi-part Covenants of Astyri Overlord!

This is the first entry in a series of Covenant Overlord kits, which includes 5 torso options, 4 head options and the choice between walking on foot or riding on undead-horseback, and left and right options in both straight and bent-armed options of the following arms:
Bare-handed arms
Taloned arms
Chainsaw arms
Cleaver arms
Demiglaive arms
Hammer arms
Maul arms
Ochystan Axe arms
Power pick arms
Power blade arms
Rotary saw arms
Spear arms
Arc cannon arms
Flamethrower arms
Gatling cannon arms
Las destructor arms
Las spear arms
Mini-bombard arms
Phase carbine arms
Plasma cannon arms
Rad cannon arms
Rail rifle arms
Shotrifle arms
Sonic lance arms
Thermal lance arms
Voltaic blaster arms
Shield arms

Honestly, it took an unbelievably, frustratingly long time to export these options. Anyway, as aforementioned, this is the first in the Covenant Overlord series, and includes all the arm options that'll be available - future instalments will include more wargear, lower leg, torso and head options, but for now I'd like to think that's enough to keep you occupied!

Next up, accompanying the Astyrian leaders, is a scout unit! And a freaky lookin' one, at that!

Sent far ahead of an invasion force, a group of Vedettes' primary function is to project an electrostatic field across the area, cutting off communications devices and disrupting radios so the hapless victims can neither organise a defense, nor call for aid from outside forces. Once the target area has inevitably been overrun, the Vedettes scuttle their way across the remains, melting down and retrieving any metals that can be used for the construction of more war machines with the thermal array beneath its body. This also functions as an ad-hoc defensive weapon, as any Vedettes approached by enemy forces that survive their huge bladed legs will be easily vaporised from a short heat blast from its array.

Pictured here atop a 130mm base, this creepy-crawly stands a total of 94mm tall - not the tallest model ever, but it makes a perfect starting chassis for a number of future vehicles, potentially bringing missile launchers, heavy laser cannons or autocannons to bear upon the enemy.

Last, but not least, we have the obligatory monthly tank - and this one brings an entirely new style of tank to Solwyte battlefields!

I know this wasn't in the plans for January's release, however I had a sudden burst of inspiration. As much as I like the Skjalos tank range (and I really do), they've always felt a bit too inspired by WW1-2 vehicles, which is why after a while I started introducing more peculiar design aspects to them, to make them feel more 'mine', and I think I've gotten to the point where, realistically, while they'll get a few more additions to complete the range, I think I want to take a little diversion into something that is more distinctly theirs.

Hence, the Nyscä Artillery Tank, the first of its kind, mounting one of two options of fairly sizeable cannons on top, plus a little crew deck for reloading at the rear.

And, well, with that we're done. That concludes this month's release post, with a total of five releases: one super-massive robot, two characters, a tank and a creepy robot thingy!

If you actually managed to read this far (thank you!), I'll be posting up the discount codes in the next couple of days, along with plans for February's releases! In addition, though of course this stuff isn't yet presupported, those will follow closer towards the end of this month - December's presupports, unfortunately, are not quite ready yet, but I'll upload them as soon as they are!

You've got a whole bunch of new stuff to print, and I can't wait to see them - if you want to show off your finished prints and models, feel free to post them up in #my-solwyte in my Discord! Finally, If you haven't received an email invitation in a few minutes please send me a message via Patreon or Discord and I'll manually issue you one when I'm back awake!
