Screw 32 at 3%. Always liked that album. A hidden gem from the mid 90s

2025-08-16 04:40:21 +0000 UTCIf this is meant in jest or that's not a song title... I totally agree. I wish bands that have been done should be passed over so other stuff could see the light of day.

2025-08-08 03:40:33 +0000 UTC100%, That album is golden! I am hoping we will get a video for No control and Recipe for hate eventually :)

2025-08-07 18:30:58 +0000 UTCWhat are your favourite songs on that album? Did you request "Black Maps" (I remember seeing that in the requests last month). I'm partial to "No Apologies", "Nowheresville", and "Tesla". "No Apologies" is really touching. I think it will resonate with all parents. I am not a parent, but still find that song's lyrics so moving.

2025-08-03 13:54:52 +0000 UTCFinally, Better Off Dead. Hopefully soon followed by a full album review of Stranger Than Fiction. And I'm really looking forward to the mixtape. August is going to be great!
Michael Palmes
2025-08-02 16:34:34 +0000 UTCIn fairness, I think he's trying to get the songs in prior to concerts too. He's seeing Suicide Machines and LTJ in 2 weeks and just saw Primus, so he watched these PRIOR to the show so they wouldnt be surprised before the show.
Hans
2025-08-01 21:22:34 +0000 UTCThank you! I'll be honest I didn't expect to get such a reaction so it's a really pleasant surprise. Our bassist is over the moon about it as well.
Chris McGrath
2025-08-01 21:04:16 +0000 UTCMan it really bums me out to see all these repeat bands and still no Jeff Rosenstock :( (or other bands that are frequently requested)
Griffin O'Connor
2025-08-01 18:53:33 +0000 UTCThe written preamble is what I was referring to. I look forward to listening to your new preamble as well.
Corey
2025-08-01 17:32:03 +0000 UTCYour preambles are always insightful! This one particularly so. I wish so much for everyone to open themselves up to other artists of the genre they like - and even ones they don’t! It’s worked wonders for me.( But I still can’t stomach most country. )
Corey
2025-08-01 17:31:21 +0000 UTCI'm surprised and disappointed too. There were 2 songs by them getting lots of votes and I figured they'll finally win with one of those. I'm rooting for "Quincentuple Your Money." "Alert the Audience" came up in previous months and I'd like to see that one get a reaction video too.

2025-08-01 16:26:09 +0000 UTCAugust is the month for a Strung Out song from Transmission.Alpha.Delta to win! I can feel it!!!

2025-08-01 16:24:59 +0000 UTCSuch a great song and a nice surprise. I didn't even know the song was under consideration. I can't remember seeing it in the request threads. That's definitely a top favourite Suicide Machines song for me and a quintessential example of how ska / punk can marry the most uplifting melodies with some of the most tortured lyrics.

2025-08-01 16:14:47 +0000 UTCCongratulations to Hans and Chris. I'm so glad that "Snake in the Grass" made it. It's still my favourite song I've discovered through this community's reccomendations and one of my favourites I heard for the first time this year. I've been listening to the song repeatedly for months now and still love it. I hope Mark will get a kick out of it too. This is the type of song that makes me appreciate bass more and how much it can contribute to a song's quality and appeal.

2025-08-01 16:11:36 +0000 UTCWhat, no way. I thought for sure The Lawrence Arms were winning this time. I kept checking right up till the day it closed and they were totally in the lead. Unless multiple people requested the same song and I just didn’t notice. Either way I’m still bummed ☹️
McChud
2025-08-01 16:04:14 +0000 UTCI think they're playing it fairly often on this tour too.
Steven White
2025-08-01 10:39:11 +0000 UTCI just saw the Descendents last night again and sheesh, Karl is a machine. The whole band is, really. Such a wildly energetic show. Edit: Hell yeah! Better Off Dead made it. I’m so pumped.
Chris
2025-08-01 04:22:11 +0000 UTCMy stupid ass was like, “Who the hell is “EMG Pickups” and why would I ever want to hear their demo!?!” I am not a bright man.

2025-07-31 23:41:57 +0000 UTCMan, when you go see Suicide Machines, watch Rich when he plays High Anxiety. It's a super weird bass part, but so good.
Steven White
2025-07-31 23:25:08 +0000 UTCEating good

2025-07-31 23:07:37 +0000 UTCCan't wait for August 8th! Also, 8/8 = NOFX day. Missed opportunity not to play August 8th by NOFX on that day. 😉

2025-07-31 21:51:56 +0000 UTCOooo so many good choices this month!
Nina Daggett
2025-07-31 19:14:50 +0000 UTCHe tallys them

2025-07-31 18:34:27 +0000 UTCFiiiinally 🙌🏻
Juan Manuel Morales
2025-07-31 18:26:12 +0000 UTCQuestion, if a song is nominated by two people, do you take the nomination with the highest amount of votes, or tally them up?
Mitch Moar
2025-07-31 18:17:13 +0000 UTCAmerican date format is so confusing! 🤣 Descendents are one of my all time favourite bands of all time. Even have a Descendents tattoo on my arm. I could never get into Cool To Be You, it's always been my least favourite of their records. So I'm very keen to see if this full album review will change my mind.

2025-07-31 18:14:21 +0000 UTCNice! Perfect lineup for my birthday month lol! I sincerely hope Mark does the music video for Much the Same.

2025-07-31 18:13:39 +0000 UTCLooking forward to the Ian Dury review! Such a fun song.
