Screw 32 at 3%. Always liked that album. A hidden gem from the mid 90s

Lee Hamilton

If this is meant in jest or that's not a song title... I totally agree. I wish bands that have been done should be passed over so other stuff could see the light of day.

Jason Humphreys

100%, That album is golden! I am hoping we will get a video for No control and Recipe for hate eventually :)

melvin hultman

What are your favourite songs on that album? Did you request "Black Maps" (I remember seeing that in the requests last month). I'm partial to "No Apologies", "Nowheresville", and "Tesla". "No Apologies" is really touching. I think it will resonate with all parents. I am not a parent, but still find that song's lyrics so moving.

Finally, Better Off Dead. Hopefully soon followed by a full album review of Stranger Than Fiction. And I'm really looking forward to the mixtape. August is going to be great!

Michael Palmes

In fairness, I think he's trying to get the songs in prior to concerts too. He's seeing Suicide Machines and LTJ in 2 weeks and just saw Primus, so he watched these PRIOR to the show so they wouldnt be surprised before the show.

Hans

Thank you! I'll be honest I didn't expect to get such a reaction so it's a really pleasant surprise. Our bassist is over the moon about it as well.

Chris McGrath

Man it really bums me out to see all these repeat bands and still no Jeff Rosenstock :( (or other bands that are frequently requested)

Griffin O'Connor

The written preamble is what I was referring to. I look forward to listening to your new preamble as well.

Corey

Your preambles are always insightful! This one particularly so. I wish so much for everyone to open themselves up to other artists of the genre they like - and even ones they don’t! It’s worked wonders for me.( But I still can’t stomach most country. )

Corey

I'm surprised and disappointed too. There were 2 songs by them getting lots of votes and I figured they'll finally win with one of those. I'm rooting for "Quincentuple Your Money." "Alert the Audience" came up in previous months and I'd like to see that one get a reaction video too.

August is the month for a Strung Out song from Transmission.Alpha.Delta to win! I can feel it!!!

Cam

Such a great song and a nice surprise. I didn't even know the song was under consideration. I can't remember seeing it in the request threads. That's definitely a top favourite Suicide Machines song for me and a quintessential example of how ska / punk can marry the most uplifting melodies with some of the most tortured lyrics.

Congratulations to Hans and Chris. I'm so glad that "Snake in the Grass" made it. It's still my favourite song I've discovered through this community's reccomendations and one of my favourites I heard for the first time this year. I've been listening to the song repeatedly for months now and still love it. I hope Mark will get a kick out of it too. This is the type of song that makes me appreciate bass more and how much it can contribute to a song's quality and appeal.

What, no way. I thought for sure The Lawrence Arms were winning this time. I kept checking right up till the day it closed and they were totally in the lead. Unless multiple people requested the same song and I just didn’t notice. Either way I’m still bummed ☹️

McChud

I think they're playing it fairly often on this tour too.

Steven White

I just saw the Descendents last night again and sheesh, Karl is a machine. The whole band is, really. Such a wildly energetic show. Edit: Hell yeah! Better Off Dead made it. I’m so pumped.

Chris

My stupid ass was like, “Who the hell is “EMG Pickups” and why would I ever want to hear their demo!?!” I am not a bright man.

PRDinPDX

😳

CJ LoBaido

Man, when you go see Suicide Machines, watch Rich when he plays High Anxiety. It's a super weird bass part, but so good.

Steven White

Eating good

Aacc

Can't wait for August 8th! Also, 8/8 = NOFX day. Missed opportunity not to play August 8th by NOFX on that day. 😉

Nick Meurer

Oooo so many good choices this month!

Nina Daggett

He tallys them

Hans

Fiiiinally 🙌🏻

Juan Manuel Morales

Question, if a song is nominated by two people, do you take the nomination with the highest amount of votes, or tally them up?

Mitch Moar

American date format is so confusing! 🤣 Descendents are one of my all time favourite bands of all time. Even have a Descendents tattoo on my arm. I could never get into Cool To Be You, it's always been my least favourite of their records. So I'm very keen to see if this full album review will change my mind.

Gav Chap

Nice! Perfect lineup for my birthday month lol! I sincerely hope Mark does the music video for Much the Same.

CJ LoBaido

Looking forward to the Ian Dury review! Such a fun song.

Chris J

Nice to see Much the same on there!

oscar johnson

Yes ! Cool to be You !! Looking forward to it!

Nicolas R.

Niiice, getting some suicide machines and ltj in before the show, good stuff. Plastic cup politics is such a fun song.

Hans
