Movie Review: RRR
Added 2023-10-08 20:15:50 +0000 UTCHi everyone, it's another week of movie reviews! This time it's RRR, which I found really hard to talk about in 2 pages.
I don't know anything about Indian cinema so I came in with only a look at what it's doing visually, hopefully I wasn't speaking out of my ass too much.
As always, if you're pledging $5 or more, please don't hesitate to leave a comment asking me to review a film, I'll add it to the list. Only condition no horror jump scares and if it's not in English, I can find subtitles.
Next review is Rohmer's Love in the Afternoon.

Huh I didn't even make the connection with Code Geass, that's a good point. Yeah I think Raju's character would make it more interesting if he actually was in favour of the British. IIRC it's a reference to a real revolutionary, but I feel like it would've been more interesting if someone was subsumed into the ideological system of colonialism (which was something that happened a lot historically).

2023-10-10 23:57:32 +0000 UTCThis movie reminded too much of Code Geass. One character rising the rank while the other trying to fight the system (finding his sister requiring that), but then it tried too hard to justify that the guy who became a British officer wasn't actually in favor of the British and just wanted guns, and it became somewhat boring as a result because it made the entire revolution and desire for guns kind of pointless when the two men defeated the British on their own.
