Indestructoboy's 5e Warlock Subclass Overhauls (v 0.1)
Added 2021-02-06 11:47:12 +0000 UTCThe Archfey, Fathomless, Fiend, and Great Old One are the subject of this overhaul. The changes made were meant to push each subclass harder towards what I believe was its intended playstyle a bit harder:
Archfey: Midline Debuffer (Charm/Fright)
The Archfey had issues with a clunky action economy and restrictive features. This subclass probably got the most love in this revision, getting a few entirely new features and pulling the Beguiling Twist from the Fey Wanderer Ranger in Tasha's Cauldron of Everything.
Fathomless: Midline Controller (Grapple/Shove)
The tentacle has such great potential to make the Fathomless an interesting controller, and what wound up happening was "the best Hexer Warlock" instead. This has been given a few options to replace some of the off-flavor design ideas (i.e. Bigby's hand over maelstrom).
Fiend: Midline Blaster
The Fiend gets firebolt as a free cantrip, and it interacts with the invocations that help out eldritch blast.
Great Old One: Midline Controller (Psionics)
Create Thrall needed some variety, and mind sliver was too fantastic not to give to the GOOlock.
