Let's chop some beats with Polyend Tracker and do some jungle rhythms

Let’s get busy slicing a breakbeat with the Polyend Tracker.
I got it recently and immediately got some requests to do a chopping tutorial and show how beats are laid down.

I’ll show my best practice for slicing and do a drumloop with the chops.
Checking FX real quick, too.

This should get you going, too!

Love to see more tracker content, i have one of these. Use it when im away from my desk or travelling.

I agree – it’s hard to do without EQ these days. You can EQ things in sample editing, but comparing differences and undoing it is hard though :/

So far the hardest limitation I have found (coming from ableton) is no EQ. If they added one as an effect, would be great. The 45 sec sample limitation is unfortunate but easy to work around, the EQ is more difficult if I want the breaks to really pop.

HI! Yes, I do think so, as long as the limitations don't get too big. But, simply, yes. Good music doesn't need that many tracks if you really think about it. And you can resample stuff with the Tracker, too.

I have been playing with mine lately. Do you think it is feasible to produce good music solely inside the tracker? I like the idea of limitations and simplicity, but not sure if I’d be better off with Renoise and ableton instead.

Nice one! It doesn't offer any direct DAW functionality, but you can export song stems easily and then drop those into DAW. Been thinking of giving out my first Polyend tracker song out via Patreon as a Tracker file :)

got one of these on the way now so looking forward to more polyend and seeinf end to end tracks on the tracker, and also using it with ableton.

Yeah man, it’s a hecking great machine. Looks simple but is a lot of fun!

ive been super curious about this hardware since it came out, especially after getting acquainted with Renoise. Looks like a lot of fun.
