The Welpiversary Cometh...

In just over a month, Welp will be celebrating its 5 year Welpiversary. 5 years! There are some celebrations planned, but in preparation for those celebrations we'd like to reach out to you, the good citizens of Planet Welp (aka The Welpdom) 😉

We'd like to showcase in an upcoming video the good people here - fans of all types, but specifically for you to show your support for us by submitting a short video of you! We did this a few years back (I think it was the 2 year Welpiversary?) that was fun to involve everyone...but it is aging poorly and is in desperate need of being updated.

So what are we asking? Here's what we want you to record, as one long video or two separate ones:

1. Wish us a Happy Welpiversary! Record yourself sending us a Welpiversary message. Say whatever you want here - Nathan will curate these into a longer video and we will react to these live when Ryan and Nathan are together at the end of October. These specific messages will be cut into a video that will go on YouTube and will be public, just to be aware - but Nathan will trim it and make you look good :)

2. Record yourself saying Welp...Here We Are! For this one we want it to be creative. In fact - the weirder/wilder the better. Try to think of the craziest/unexpected/funniest or most unusual way and/or shot you can think of. Can't think of anything? Say it in a sexy voice, or in a different accent. Or try putting the camera up above you, on the ground, or (it it is waterproof) underwater. Like we say - the more variety we get the better. If any of it is inappropriate for YouTube, not to worry - It'll be blurred out for the final cut, and we'll double check with you before it goes live. Let us know if you have any instructions for us as to how you'd like us to use it, and we'll do our best to make it work.

When you say 'Welp...Here We Are', say 'Welp', pause briefly, then say 'Here We Are'. It will go into a large collage of voices saying it all at once, with each 'Welp' hitting on a beat to a song. Hopefully that all makes sense.

Now for the good part. If you participate in this by submitting a video, regardless of whether we use the video, we'll release (via Patreon messenger and/or email) a limited time 20% discount code that you can use on future Welp purchases, Patreon tier renewals or upgrades - basically a discount on anything you use from us on Patreon. We'll keep track of all that send us videos and we'll release the code to you shortly before we celebrate the Welpiversary, near the end of October.

One last thing. While we do love our current logo, we are likely going to be changing our title from 'Welp Here We Are on YouTube' to simply 'Welp Here We Are'. We're open to seeing some suggestions for logo ideas, and if we like one that is better than our current one, we'll glady include it in all of our places. If that's something you're interested in, we'd love to see some of your ideas. If we don't get any ideas by mid October, we'll likely just drop the YouTube part from our current logo and stick with that instead, but hey - your idea just might become our newest logo! Give it a shot. We'll make you famous 😎

So - how do you get this to us? For videos (or even logo ideas), the best way (and preferred way) is to use a file sharing service, like Google drive. It's free and quite simple. Open Google Drive (you'll need an account linked to a gmail account, also free to make) and create a folder (if you have more than one file), or if it is just one file you can drag and drop the file right into Google Drive. You'll need to make the file or folder shareable, either by right clicking it and selecting 'share' or by clicking the 3 little dots beside the uploaded file/folder and choosing share. Once the share settings window is open, change the General Access setting from 'Restricted' to 'Anyone with the link'. This just avoids the waiting back and forth for the other party to approve before downloading.

Next, add Nathan's email as a person to share the file with, using this email: outright.adventure@gmail.com It usually sends an email right away. Once Nathan gets the notification that you've shared the file, and once he's downloaded it, he'll send you a confirmation email (and may ask questions about it), and then you are free to delete the file from Google drive.

Please don't send us tiny video files through email, as email will restrict files to 25 MB or lower, and the video resolution is so poor it isn't worth using. Ideally you want to shoot at 1080p or higher, at 24 or 30 fps. If that sounds like goblety gook, reach out to Nathan through the email above and he'll clarify, or we may have to make a video if people need better instructions ;)
