The July 2024 episode of the LGR Wrap Up is available for viewing, so let's jump into the videos from the month as well as your questions submitted last time.

Feel free to leave any questions for next month's video in the comment section below this post. Thank you very much for your ongoing support, especially during these weird months where not as many videos go up due to convention travel!

How do you manage the collecting vs hoarding balance? As my collection grows, I am struggling to not fall over the cliff into hoarder.

As of late (within the past few months), what have been your most enjoyable types of vids to create? You make such a variation in terms of oddware, software, hardware, vlogs, etc...im curious as to what type are your favorite at the moment!

Brandie Drown

I too agree that using retro hardware and enjoying it is the best way to collect old hardware. As nice as unique pieces of hardware are to collect, much like old cars these things were made to be used!

Bryan McIntosh

As a camera guy who's also very interested in tech, I always love your camera videos. I'm curious how you decide which cameras to cover? Is it based on the era or does it need to have something unique about it?

Robert Launder

Has the algorithm picked up you vlogs as "sleep content"? Referencing the spiffing brit video, if I'm not making sense.

This is not a question but a suggestion: I just found a weird and obscure gaming peripherial for the PlayStation 2. It only has 3 games, 2 of them are golf games and the 3rd one is a first person fighting game. It might be a prime candidate for OddWare, it's called Gametrak. It's pretty cheap, it basically has no collection value so you might be able to pick up one for an OddWare episode if you see something in it. Cheers!

Its interesting to see how your mood changes from month to month! Its been really fun getting to you know through these vids! But yeah, I totally understand your feels on the anxiety and stress when it comes to travel. For me all kinds of travel are stressful if there isn't a long enough break in between..stressful in terms of just being exhausted as well as the spending. There is a reason why we need a vacation from a vacation lol. I usually like to travel once, maybe twice in a year...one big travel and one small, more local..just a weekend getaway.BUT although youre stressed out now, eveything will work out just fine..it always does :) youve got the rest of the year to edit and make vids. This time of travel is very small in terms of the bigger picture and the new experiences are key to continual production. All you wanna do is edit right now. You may be burned out from travel, but not from your work and hopefully that was one reason for the travels in the first place :) Im happy youre saying yes to more things ;) Chin up! before you know it, youll be back to the editing dungeon haha! Yeah, ive always wondered..windows os or mac os at this point! makes sense! And thanks for answering my question! Yeah, now that you mention it...you have shared many hobbies with us on here! Its cool you have different channels that you can go to whenever you do feel like posting about it again...they're just waiting till you feel inspired again. My channel is so random because i just put everything on there..anything and everything i want to do haha! NO STRUCTURE lmao! Def doesnt lead to YT success, but oh well! haha! Ive tried making other channels, but...its too much work esp when my hobbies fade in and out continuesly sooo i just throw everything on one channel. I love all the genuine questions and genuine answers you give! i always look forward to these wrap ups! My next question will come soon! :D

Speaking for myself, I'm in my late 20s, very enthusiastic about retro stuff, and the majority of what I'm interested in is stuff from before I was born. I love late 90s and early 2000s Power Macs because that's what I grew up with, but other than that, I'm most enthusiastic about 68k Macs, Commodore/Amiga, Atari, Sinclair, Amstrad, and other computers that I'm too young (and sometimes too American) to have used as a kid.

Hey o Clint! Got 2 questions if it's ok. 1 is if you were to give advice to folks who are first timers when it comes to searching for vintage PC parts online, what would say are the DOs and DON'Ts of what to look for? And my 2nd question is more philosophical. As time goes by and the popular knowledge of past events and trends gets lost, do you feel a little bad deep down? Example for myself being, as a comedian, I'm usually always writing jokes. I was testing a bit on a coworker who's the same age as me (36). I mentioned Marlon Brando, and he legit had to Google who he was right in front of me cause he never heard of em. So I died a little on the inside that day.

What’s the state of the Retro/70s room you were working on? Interested in an update.

Hey Clint, great to hear that you plan to focus on enjoying life and not worrying about the grind - as Lawrence from Office Space said, "fuckin' A man!" I was wondering, do you think that the fact that you investigate different hardware all the time for your channel helps to satisfy "the itch" for new (to you) / different things? I'm constantly getting the itch to upgrade my personal desktop and peripherals but I wonder if I'd be less bothered if I was able to poke around with other systems regularly! Ideally I'd love to build (or re-build) a different PC every month or so but just don't have any reason to do that these days and so I keep coming back to my desktop and thinking "hmmm, what can I upgrade next?!?" - but I'm also really aware of e-waste etc. so try to restrain myself!

Gareth P

As an example I've managed to get my kids exited to game on my old VIC-20 and specially C64. That's been going actively for a few years now and once I get my PC sorted we're gonna "upgrade" to early 90's DOS gaming.

A question not directly to you but about your observations and to the audience too. Have you seen or heard of younger generations getting interested in like 80's and 90's tech and games? Is it just old farts remembering our childhood or is there a younger audience too and to what extent? Any stories or something are welcome too.
