Why do I re-upload videos?

Many of our Patreons and subscribers ask this question - why so many re-uploads? They don't see much difference in the video even after the re-uploads. The reality is that I also don't want to re-upload the videos, but I am forced to do so. All the blame goes to the current YouTube algorithm. The new YouTube algorithm cares only about 'average view duration' (video engagement) of a video. It does not care about the like you are receiving or the positive comments people are making. To produce a highly engaging video the intro of the video is super important. Sometimes intro of our video goes wrong. What happens during the re-upload is that we fix these things and upload the video again. I know you are irritated due to the multiple re-uploads, but please bear with me. The new YouTube algorithm is so tough. We have no other way to survive.

By the way we are planning a few more interesting videos for the coming months.

1) Hoover dam power production

2) Construction of Burj Khalifa

3) Excavator

I will try to release these videos without re-uploading :) Please let me know in the comments what you think about this issue.

Cheers Sabin

Yes Herrmaan, that's a great idea. I love Linkedin. I will be uploading more videos on LinkedIn.

LinkeIn is definitely a good way to find more subscribers. Keep videos short for quick evindence of what people can expect from you and then make a reference to YouTube, but also your PATREON link (people need to be aware you need money to keep this running!) People on LinkedIn tend to have more money and I really hope you can find more subscribers. And one more idea: Short basic videos are cool for engineering dads to explain thinks to their kids. One of the reasons I subscribed here, as I want to have a "library" of cool videos I can later show to them. So maybe you can make a kind of "basics" category/playlist and "advanced" for more in-depth videos?

Thank you for the detailed comment. You will not see any re-uploads from Lesics now onwards. I have finally figured out a way to fix the issue. Thank you for suggesting Odysee, I will explore this platform. I am also seriously consider uploading the videos on LinkedIn. Cheers Sabin

I wish to help a bit here because I feel that is unhealthy and concerning for an engineering educational video channel to do re-uploads. Your videos are valuable and meaningful and I wish to see more, but I know that is really hard to get more views in YouTube these days because the majority of YouTube audience like fun and trending topics, and quite a few of them have fallen into clickbaits. Re-upload or clickbaits will hurt this channel so badly because people who watch Educational Videos are different from the one who watch trending clickbait-ish videos since they have different expectation of the videos they watch. I am not sure if these ideas help, but: - Instead of re-uploading, perhaps some videos with extended details from the previous one; like the CNC machine video, I know the topic can be a lot deeper. - Debunk fake engineering videos, with proper engineering knowledge - Analyze Engineering failures with CAD animation, with a bit of history; these can also discuss the ethics of engineers - Expends audience beyond YouTube, considering YouTube is not profitable in a long run because of the audience and the "algorithm", maybe some alternative media like odysee or a platform to keep the engineering discussion active like Discord. - Perhaps some online events that engages the subscribers or the community. Hope to see if any idea can get away from the current situation.

Yah, nowadays after a video release the first thing I check is 'average view duration', not critial comments. The sad part is that sometimes I have to deliberately hide difficult to understand concepts from my videos - they may negatively affect the 'average view duration'. The path ahead is tough :(

Hope you guys figure out this game Youtube is playing! In a sea of garbage that is being put out on Youtube and gaining massive views, it’s good to see quality content like yours!
