Halloween 2025

So, a little update. I had a not-so-great Halloween this year. I specifically asked for Halloween night off at the warehouse like a month ago, because I love Halloween! But one of the evening shift guys cancelled at the last minute, and no one else was willing to cover, so I got shafted. I was left working in a dimly-lit, half-empty warehouse, while everyone else was out having fun and doing Halloween stuff. Oh well.

While I was working, I kept thinking about last Halloween. I was dressed as a slutty witch (any costume is going to be slutty considering nothing actually fits my body!) Jake was wearing an old Hunger Games costume that he got for free on Buy Nothing. We had a perfect little Halloween night together!

Me and Jake aren’t the type to go out to Halloween parties or anything, and we live in an apartment complex, so we’re lucky to get two or three Trick or Treaters. We just hang out in our costumes and watch horror movies for hours on end. Nothing too scary, because I get scared easy. Stuff like Trick R Treat, Halloween Three, and It Part One (I’m never watching Part Two again LOL.) That might not sound exciting, but it’s kind of our ritual. And if it inevitably devolves into us ignoring the movies and making out in the light of the fake Jack O Lanterns we got at Target… well, I don’t see that as a negative.

Anyway, we’re still going to celebrate our Halloween! Just not on the actual Halloween night. It will have to wait until November 2nd, because of course he had to work an evening shift too. But hey, it doesn’t matter if everyone else is celebrating as long as it’s our Halloween, right?
