Inside an abandoned warehouse not far from the hotel, a flickering neon light buzzed overhead. Irina Jelavić sat bound tightly to a steel chair, her earlier image of leisure on the beach completely stripped away—even the black one-piece she had worn was no longer with her. All that remained was a restrained body, vulnerable under the biting chill of the night and the unyielding gaze of her captors.

A man in a dark suit circled her deliberately, the echo of his shoes striking the concrete floor filling the silence.

“An assassin like you… surely you know why you’ve been brought here,” he whispered near her ear, testing her composure.

Irina drew in a steady breath despite the cold that prickled her skin. Her lips curved into a sly smile.
“Interrogating me? With nothing but ropes and a chair? You really have no idea who you’re dealing with.”

Her words deepened the tension. Another figure stepped forward, slamming a thick folder onto a metal table in front of her.

“Target information. What do you know?”

Irina glanced at the file, then chuckled softly. “If I told you… I wouldn’t be Jelavić, would I?”

The ropes bit deeper into her wrists as she shifted. The scraping of the chair against the floor echoed through the warehouse. Despite her vulnerable state—stripped of freedom and control—her piercing blue eyes still blazed with defiance.

The man’s patience snapped. With a violent kick, the chair was knocked onto its side, her bound body crashing hard against the floor, the sound reverberating like a tolling bell.

For a moment, the overhead light sputtered and dimmed, casting the room into shadows. In that darkness, only Irina’s silhouette remained—tied, subdued, but never broken. Her mocking smile lingered, a silent declaration that no interrogation could ever claim her spirit.

That night, the questioning would go on…
but Irina Jelavić had already made her answer clear: she would never surrender.
