There's definitely a subtle thing happening here that Claire, who is very easily manipulated several times in this episode, may be the next Minister of Finance (I'm not actually sure if her dad's position works like that or any inheritance law of this kingdom) possibly intentionally saying something about the aristocracy's competence

I've seen these kinds of threads deeply about self-worth in a pretty recent anime, but it might be a spoiler to name which it was
