Space Lion, Goodnight Julia, and the Music box from this episode are all versions of that song. It's soooo good. Cowboy Bebop music has been on my everyday playlist for years. Hell, decades now.

This show has been my favorite anime and one of my all time favorite TV shows of any genre domestic or foreign for 25 years now. And episodes like these are why.
When I see reactors react exactly the way I did when I first watched it I feel validated, like SEE?! SEE?!!! IT'S AMAZING!!
It's one of the main reasons why I think react content works so well. Validation and living vicariously through the eyes of someone who is seeing it for the first time.

Ok so funny you brought up the live music question. I got so lucky the other week, I saw a random email inviting me to get early ticketing to Yoko Kanno and The Seatbelts, live for the first time in the US, in brooklyn April 10. I snagged three tickets so fast, for me, my sister and brother in law. I literally have been listening to Yoko Kanno's music for more than half my life. Like 12 years old (37 now)..I used to Limewire download whatever I could find and burn CDs lol. Now we have more options like youtube and some of spotify (Japanese music distribution is ass and they pull shit from western platforms all the time) ANYWAYS.. my QUEEN is coming to NY and im actually going to see her AND the legendary Seatbelts band and they are gunna play all of this amazing Bebop music. Im gunna cry T T

The song is Space Lion and it is an expounded version of Goodnight Julia. I love it. It is magical. I am glad you guys love this show like I do.

Haven't watched the reaction yet, but I have been waiting for these episodes since the start.
These were the first two episodes I watched of Cowboy Bebop - caught them randomly in like 1999 on Adult Swim at my buddies house who happened to have cable. No idea who these characters were but in an hour I was so emotionally invested I knew this show had to be something special. I thought anime was just like, Pokemon.
Went out to a comic book store and overpayed for the imported DVD of these episodes to watch them again (think I paid like $40 for three episodes lol). I didn't end up seeing the full series until years later when the full season came out on DVD and I could afford it. But these two episodes will always be the most special and impactful to me. Thanks for coming to my TED Talk.
