croc modeling + texutring walk thru
Added 2023-01-10 22:42:22 +0000 UTCthis a big one! grab a sandwich and follow me as I get these crocs done. This is an interesting object to model, i did it once before earlier this week to get a workflow down, then recorded it again doing this one.
There were a couple of hiccups, which i wanted to leave in the video to show you guys different ways i handle situations like that while working in blender.
no matter how much of a workflow you have down, you will always run into some weird mishap while working in 3d, every project is different.
I really wanna stress the importance of what textures can do for your models. As youll see in the video, the croc model itself isnt the best, in fact it looks pretty ugly up close. but once the texture is on, it starts to shape out a little more. Color and texture can go a long way with fooling your eye into thinking something looks more real.
a lot of this process requires creative liberty, or just taking creative initiative in general. especially with the texture painting. theres no real right way to do it, just as long as you think it looks good enough.
