No, Gustavo Fring is NOT different from the Salamancas. He has a brain and is more calculated but he is still a monster. It doesn't matter if he owns it.

Remember when Kim freaked out about Jimmy possibly risking his career for his cobbler stunt? How far they've come.

Maple's right, it's funny how resourceful he is but he can't speak Spanish. I think at this point in the story he's only lived in Albuqurque for like a year though. I've lived in Houston 11 years and I even took a bit of Spanish in high school and couldn't speak it if you paid me. I can understand it to an extent but definitely not enough to converse.

Was Howard at a mattress store? That was two futons and a third bed.

The show trained us to expect the worst! I guess Cliff Main was okay too tbf.

Yep, totally forgot about the Butt Brothers thing, but as well as what Hector said to them when they first met when he peed in the pool, saying they "like what they see" before smooching at them. Lots of implications that they were more than just friends

Gotta love some criminal underworld continuity

Yeah I think the girls got that, they said they thought Max was Gus' former boyfriend or lover. Which is definitely the implication what with Gus being so devastated about his death and Hector calling them "los Culos Hermanos" (the Butt Brothers).

Yeah I like Rich too. Especially because the show pulls just a bit of a switcheroo on us with him because he's first introduced as like a "villain" or at least an antagonist, when he's council for Sandpiper Crossing and representing the "bad guys" against Jimmy and Chuck's heroic class action on behalf of the elderly.
But we later see that he's just like a guy, just a guy doing his job and being pretty good at it, but he's not evil, he's actually pretty decent.

In case no one noticed, Mr. X was the same guy that Mike beat up to get the job helping Colin Robinson.

It's been a while, but Max is Gus' former cook, the other brother in "Pollos Hermanos" that was killed by Hector all those years ago. Max clearly was very close to Gus and it crushed him so deeply that he spent all these years plotting revenge.

"I am what I am" The whole time I was watching your Breaking Bad reactions + takes on Gus I was thinking of this line haha. The writers are on the same wavelength. Gus doesn't pretend (to himself) that he's anything other than what he is - an evil drug lord executing a decades-long revenge plot. Great reaction!
I actually love Rich Schweikart (Kim's boss), he's like a nicer Howard (I like Howard too!).

I always found the bank call-center sub-plot extremely contrived and annoying , but the rest of the episode is good
