Indeed, as long as the value you plug in does not make the denominator = 0, this is an effective way to check.

Just a small tip for those who are going through this now: Plug some value of x (e.g x= 17) into the original function, and calculate it using your calculator. Then plug the same value into the partial fraction that you found. If it matches, you're very likely to be correct (although there may be some exceptions).

Again it took me a while to get through the video but I did it! Its really really helpful that you go through so many questions in the video. I'm gonna go tackle the worksheet now.

For our steps to make mathematical sense, we ourselves need to know whether the shit we're doing is valid or not lmao. I could be doing some random shit and it might as well just look valid to me lol

Like he told us to do long division of the original fraction first. But your way's much simpler so I'll stick with that.

Not sure what you’re asking. But if you wanna divide something you can as long as it’s mathematically valid. Don’t be so focused on a method, just makes sure all your steps make mathematical sense. If they do you will get the right answer no matter what.

In the 4th question, our teacher told us we always have to divide the fraction first and then split it. So is it not necessary to divide?
