September Episode Two - Beetlejuice Beetlejuice

Don't say it a third time! Or they might actually make a third movie! Folks! We review the long-awaited sequel to the Tim Burton classic. Was Beetlejuice Beetlejuice worth the wait? Or will you be screaming, "Home! Home! Home!" while you sit watching in the theater?

Please guys, we don’t need a trans werewolf lol. Pretty sure most wouldn’t find it very intimidating.

Larkin Hill

I don’t get it, it’s a fucking good movie. Not boring at all.

Larkin Hill

What?! Mouth of Madness does not suck ass dude, like…I get not liking it for whatever reason. But it’s objectively at least an average film, though I think it’s pretty good.

Larkin Hill

Yeah man both were fantastic. I’d give both an A-

Larkin Hill

lol I don’t know. Why are they trying to kiss his ass? Don’t change shit. Treat him cordially and take care of him, but for fucks sake, he’s a goddamn actor lol. I love Tom cruise but he’s just another dude. Not god. Celebrity worship trips me out, but I also find it disgusting and pathetic.

Larkin Hill

Was very flawed, overstuffed and cringey/cheesy/douchey, especially with the whole grandmother/daughter/grand daughter tripe. And I personally thought Keaton seemed tired. But it was funny at times, some cool moments. Worth seeing imo.

Larkin Hill

I think Desperado is filled with some amazing moments that do combine to an enjoyable watch. Buscemi’s monolog, the tension while Tarantino tells his joke, Banderas trying to quietly reload the pistol. I don’t attribute much of it to Rodriguez. I believe the cast and crew are responsible for elevating it all.

Hami Onder

Fully agree with all the flaws of the film. That being said it was fun in a nostalgic way to visit this world again

Plugugly138

Really dug Strange Darling, liked the structure

Kevin

Just saw it, I liked it and laughed quite a few times. Reminded me of the cartoon a bit. There were too many plot lines going on though. And 100% agree on the Soul Train stuff

Kevin

The two movies I ever walked out of were V.I. Warshawshi, and this turd.

Keegan Martin

I remember being disappointed by, but still kinda liking the Del Toro, Hopkins Wolfman. The climax was pretty cheesy and I remember thinking the whole thing coulda been way better but it was still aight. Btw. Any chance you guys are doing a Q&A ep this year? The one you did last summer was fun

Raffi N

RIP: Leslie Jordan. When they mentioned Mull, I immediately thought of him.

Marcus McGahhey

Knowing nothing about Joe's movie, I sure would love to see Don Johnson, Brendan Gleason, Keith David, and Tom Noonan in a film together.

Marcus McGahhey

I remember going to see Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning in IMAX at a movie theatre in Miami and walking passed all the different displays and movie posters as I headed to my theatre. About halfway through the film I had to go to the restroom and walked out to find every display and movie poster had been changed to the posters and displays for Dead Reckoning. Took video because I found it incredibly odd. Turns out Cruise showed up at the IMAX showing of the film after mine. Meaning the poor theatre employees had to flip the entire building at light speed im guessing because this fucking maniac would’ve had a shit fit if he saw any kind of promotion for any film other than his.

Witless Protection might be missing those male actors at this point, can we switch to mob-wives who hold the wealth and have been hiding the secrets? Instead of father figures with coffee breath, we look for mother figures who smell like string perfume..? Meryl Streep, Phylicia Rashad, Sigourney Weaver, dare I say Dolly Parton?? Bad ass mob women?

Travis Leivo

Really hoping you guys check out and review Strange Darling and Rebel Ridge. Good stuff!

Ricky Coogan

Yet another great ep! First of all, please please write your script for “The Crew.” Second, Jeremy Saulnier (Green Room director) has a new movie out on Netflix called Rebel Ridge. I didn’t know anything about it going in but really enjoyed it. Hope to hear your take on it.

Will Glasco

Do it!!!!

Ryan Thomson

Would love to know that Bloody Mary outcome, Joe.

Amanda

I’ve always said Charles Dance is the only actor that I think would genuinely scare me irl. and if we’re talking new old guys, Keaton is clearly up to work.

Ghisbrain Maxwell

I can’t believe Pat didn’t laugh at Danny Devito essentially playing dead Frank Reynolds and gurgling goo on himself before getting his soul sucked out. Agree with many of the boys’ points, but there were definitely laughs and it’s an enjoyable theater watch that’s under two hours.

Christian Grant

No Dabney, Mull or Arkin to cast in “Wittless Protection” but I’d throw in Alda, Lithgow or Garrett Morris.

VM Acosta

Me and 3 friends went to the movies on a Friday and we were divided between Jerky Bros and In the Mouth of Madness. We saw JB but both movies sucked ass. We all lost.

Bob Uzaka

Always a lovely surprise to get a new ep add a little joy to my day💕

Rebecca

Van Helsing is underrated, very campy and insane

Maxwell Ashcroft

Progressive has great commercials

Michael Whitsett

those celebs doing awful commercials maybe obligated through crossover movie studio deals. Moon is great, but I think it would better if three of you watched and reviewed same movie.

Bill Owen

Re: Robert Rodrieguez... a little picture called From Dusk Til Dawn. I'd consider THAT his masterpiece.

Clinton Davis

Joe regularly falling asleep to In the Mouth of Madness explains a lot! 😂

W C

Wow, guys. I actually enjoyed the film. Thought it was fun.

Keith LaCour

Seeing beetlejuice tomorrow! Can't wait

Melanie St.George

The Mummy Demastered is actually a good game. Made by WayForward who makes solid 2D metroidvanias. …I’ll see myself out

Ricky Coogan

Do Battle Angel Alita! Best Rodriguez to date. But youre right womp wompppppp

otachi - babadook

I hope you write a book one day Pat, I love you and want to hug you. And for the record on here, my wife is Joe to a capital T.

Ryan Thomson

The WSYIH Wiki recap of the old man coffee breath movie (from the Leprechaun episode): "Joe's ideal movie is a comedy Expendables. Dabney Coleman, Howard Hessman, Craig T Nelson, John Lithgow, Kelsey Grammar, Martin Mull, every funny guy that reminds Joe of his dad. Dabney Coleman's breath always smells like coffee. Same for Martin Mull. Pretty much all those guys. They're all mob guys in the witness protection program and have dementia, the feds are worried they'll start blabbing secrets so they have an old man home for elderly informants. And another character fakes dementia so he can get into the home to get their secrets. That's your Ben Stiller guy. Witless Protection? No, that's a Larry the Cable Guy movie."

Chris Swalljay

Also!!! Pat if you see this, have you read the A24 zine that breaks down how the dancing in stop making sense dance moves are based on old Japanese plays? It is called dance like me.

Ryan Thomson

Damn! So unexpected but what a delight!

Ryan Thomson

I have to commend the boys on their stick-to-itiveness. No idea how they keep covering new movies when they hate the vast majority of them 😂

Harry Balzak

Damn boys yall jumped on the Thurs night showing huh lol love it!
